I moved to Thailand from beautiful Boulder, CO 23 years ago and married a beautiful Thai woman who is very smart and half Thai and the other half her father who had Chinese blood and speaks very good English. I have not missed the U.S. at all and will never go back. I started in Ko Samui and still have a nice house there but my wife wanted to move to Nakhon Sawan so I now live in a house here it is a quiet Thai Village not in the city and beautiful since my wife is a designer by heart. Thanks for sharing your story with us, Serg! I can relate so much to this as I'm planning to move to Bangkok myself after having lived in Vancouver for the past 14 years. Your take on materialism is right on. I am also from USA and totally connected with what you mentioned about the cancel culture and political crap. I had plans to do what you have done, but my 401K has just been devastated so I think it will be a few more years for me. In the meantime, I subscribed after seeing this video, I like your outlook on life and your presentation style. All the best on your new life in Thailand.

The heat is the one big reason that would hold me back from considering moving to Thailand full time. Some of us are just not built for that. However, it would make a great part-time home if one can swing it. Your first trip is pretty similar to my experience. I loved everything about it except the heat. I really want to return for a longer stay this time.
@LifewithSerg2 жыл бұрын
I got admit, I hated the heat. You gotta remember that I was born in Russia. So my body isn’t exactly designed for warm temperatures. 🤣 However after four months here I feel very acclimated. I still sweat, I still overheat but it’s getting much better.
@มนสิทธิ์จันทน์หอม2 жыл бұрын
If you are afraid of the heat I recommend you to stay in Khao Kho, Phetchabun. It's not hot in the summer. not very cold in winter It is very suitable for living.
@LifewithSerg2 жыл бұрын
I’m ok with the heat now. Have gotten used to it.
@junglehacker Жыл бұрын
An air-conditioner is useful during a few summer months. If you don't want to use it, you shouldn't use a car either. In fact, a few solar panel can provide free electricity for an air-conditioner. Not to mention some secret places where it's cold during the summer night.
@DreamofThailand19000 Жыл бұрын
I am Thai and agree with you about the heat. After living in US for 30+ years, I have a hard time taking the heat in Thailand. However I will retire next year, but will stay in Thailand from November to March.

Just know when to go outside. I once got a persistent flu in the north winter. I didn't feel better until I drove back near Bangkok. That's why I love warm weather more than the cold. You'll know this when you're weak. I prefer cold weather when I have to do hardware work only.

Totally understand your vantage point Serg. It's much more comfortable to look after our own health and happiness than to spend time pondering over politics and even just what others think of us in general. I'm in that mentality now as well. After decades of caring too much about how others view me, it's now "ME" time instead of political correctness 24/7. Thanks for your fun walks. It's coming up to Fall Season. Have ypu ever thought of visiting Chiang Rai or Mae Hong Son in tge north during Winter here? If so you do have to plan (and reserve accom) ahead of time month or more. It's beautiful up there during Winter with flowers, tea plantations, rolling hills, and best of all, 15-25 degree Celcius weather. Would love to see your videos up there if you do.

I suggest that you need to learn a bit more of daily used Thai language by living in Bangkok. It will make you more fun during your daily life and should make a lots of Thai friends cause they will open wide when you talking to them in Thai for those Thais who was weak in English. Anyway, Well come to Thailand.

Thai language is not as difficult as you think. When you experience Thai language...You will find beautiful language sounds, excellent grammar, beautiful font and the exact meaning...unlike English, one word has many different meanings. **Thai people are welcome if you are nice.🤗👉(If not, please don't come..You know, Westerners are very hard to find good-hearted people.) Then you will find all the happiness you want in..Thailand.**😉 From..Thai people...Wish you luck.😇
