@rapipanmanoch64702 жыл бұрын
Just wanna add about those cheap new products like shampoo and soap, those things are legit products straight out of their respective factories. The reason they’re cheaper is because when big companies like Tesco or 7/11 adjust their ordered lots, there tends to be the surplus from the production line. Those products would being sell in front of the factory at a certain time of the day, and the small-time merchants would buy them cheaply and able to mark up the price enough to make profit and still undercut most convenient stores. So yeah, don’t worry about bootleg stuffs, because the real products can be much more cheaper than you think.
@LifewithSerg2 жыл бұрын
That makes a lot of sense. A lot of times products like this are sold at Marcus because they are coming near the expiration date. I would see this at minimarkets in the US.

Hey Serg! I've been flipping second-hand clothes and shoes as a side-hustle online for a few years now. Lately, I've been getting free clothes and shoes from friends who are cleaning out their closets to make more room for new purchases. It's a win-win situation for both parties. My friends win because they need to get rid of unused clothes and shoes, and I win because I get free things to sell online! Recycling clothing helps keep them out of landfills and gives them a new life.

You forgot to mention the most important thing here. Take a Thai with you ! As soon as you rock up as a foreigner , SO does the price and the ability to bargain. I will walk seperate from my wife when in the markets and point at something I want for her to follow up and buy at local price. There have been 2 - 500baht price diferences for us depending on who asked about the items. And I have been here 20 + years.
@LifewithSerg Жыл бұрын
Yes, it does help, however, I’ve been buying and selling stuff for almost 25 years, and I have enough understanding of numbers to be able to try and bargain. The best tool you can use if you’re interested in some thing the price is too high, it’s just start to walk away, nine out of 10 times the seller will give you a better price. I know this for both a selling and buying standpoint. However, having someone that speaks, the language is a huge plus!

I think it's interesting the way older items still have value there. I'm an inveterate scrounger and collect things like broken toys which I then mostly fix, 90% at least, and set aside here for visits from my young grand kids. People in the Western world seem to be trained to simply discard something when it stops working rather than fix things. Some of the toys and tools I've fixed are worth hundreds of dollars, have very little wrong with them and are returned to service with as little as soldering a broken wire. It's a throwaway world unfortunately but it suits me just fine.
@LifewithSerg Жыл бұрын
It’s interesting that you say that because vintage markets are a huge thing in the US, if that’s where you’re from. As a retired vintage toy dealer, I have shipped thousands of vintage toys all over the world. There is definitely an interest in secondhand things almost universally. I think that is so great that you enjoy buying all things and fixing them.

Glad you joined this video, I really enjoyed meeting you. Yes, iPhone 13 Pro Max and the Manfrotto stand in Manfrotto clamp. I’m now using a Hollyland Lark 150 wireless microphone, but I will probably replace that soon with the DJI wireless microphone. I always tell people just to go out and make content with whatever equipment they have. It’s really not about the equipment. I could have the best piano in the world but I still couldn’t play a song on it.

Thanks for taking us there. I’ve never been there but would like to. The fried “cucumber” you had for lunch was actually fried eggplant. It is very delicious if you eat with Thai chili-shrimp paste.

Nice🙂👍im doing some flipping myself. I have worked with Stonks for many years. Now I try to expand my flipping, its more fun and I dont want to do anything that involves a computer anymore.🙂. Still keep my investments. I was in Bkk recently and saw some Nice stuff. Would be Nice to see more of this. Have you found other markets? Preferably vintage stuff. Thx for a good video.
@LifewithSerg2 жыл бұрын
Yes there are other markets that have vintage items. It’s so tempting, but shipping things from here will be much more difficult and expensive.

Many of the consumer goods like shampoo, toothpaste in the markets etc are knockoffs from the neighboring countries such as Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam etc. I used to live withing walking distance of this market. There's a lot of good stuff there. Second hand tools are very good.
@LifewithSerg2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I hear ya David. I only buy personal hygiene products from reputable stores. This was a very fun market.

@@LifewithSerg it is a good market. My wife used to buy new bras there for 50 THB. That's AU$2. Crazy cheap. She never liked me looking at the second hand clothes. She was scared they belonged to deceased people.

Hi Serg! How long did you wait before you started having things like smoothies and juices? I’m flying out to Bangkok soon and worried about getting 🤢 the Bangkok Belly!
@LifewithSerg2 жыл бұрын
I did not wait. I was having them from day 1 as I moved to life here, so I just wanted to acclimate to it. I prolly had tummy issues for 3 weeks. But it do not start till my 3rd week here.

I believe it’s open seven days a week from 9 AM to 5 PM. Use Google to look up the hours to make sure.

😎👍🇺🇸 When I was a kid in SoCal. We would hit the Swap meet a couple times a month. Dad would give my brother and I a dollar or .$50 and we had fun for hours. I use to love digging through the boxes of hot wheels, weird toys and all the cool junk. Was always a fun day. 👍 Cheers.

Hi, what is comparable to Ebay in Thailand?
@LifewithSerg2 жыл бұрын
As far as I know, there is no similar auction site. I know some people in Thailand use eBay, because I have shipped many things to customers here while I was still living in the US.

I would have to say one of your top 5 video's, you cover everything. I might of missed it but what is the closest BTS /subway station to this location. When my wife and I finally make it back, I'm going to pack lighter and hit this place then next day or two after we arrive. Again, your videos are the best out there for Thailand.......Matt
@LifewithSerg2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Matt! I feel that as long as I stick to making videos about subjects I enjoy, I’ll be able to make a good video. Unfortunately there is not a BTS or MRT stop anywhere near the market. I took a taxi.

My Sony Handycam overheated or got too much humidity in Bangkok in June. It malfunctioned big-time. When I got back to North Carolina, to this pleasant mountain air, started back working. 😆
@LifewithSerg2 жыл бұрын
I’ve definitely had my iPhone overheat a couple of times here. To be fair, it happened once in Texas as well. Recording in 4K in the heat definitely adds to the problem.
