Circle doors in a office/residential building that is tall is quite common in the U.S.A. The doors oddly are locked (yes the revolving door)

That rope looks like a part of a bag or clothing. We’ve had a few incidents in the netherlands with that type of accident, often involving elderly people and dog leashes. Quite a few dogs met their demise because their leash got stuck and there is one known fatal incident where someone tried rescue a dog and started pulling on the doors and fell into the shaft. That generic Mitsubitshi is a budget model, their factory in Veenedaal build custom bespoke lifts as well for special projects. These are often a mix of mitsubitshi and generic parts depending on the requirements. On a lot of those housing estates the lifts would originally innerdoorless and have one lift stop at even floors and the other at the odd floors. Most of those flats are built with a special type of concrete formwork called the tunnel shuttering system.

0:20 there is a lift near me that has a a small metal string but on the inside, so you can open the inner doors. So let’s say you want to go to floor 2, you changed your mind!, pulling the string and press 1 and you have changed direction

Regarding danger- when it's done by lift enthusiasts, I don't see lift surfing as any different from any other dangerous sport, such as skydiving or white water canoeing. And, unlike with horse riding, a lift won't unexpectedly get "spooked" and decide to throw you.

It is some cheap lift. Kleeman only provide lift kits of brought in parts. I don't know if the lift was from a Kleeman lift kit, it kind of looks like the rubbish that they have in their kits, although it could just be a generic company that brought the parts individually.
