Lift and escalator tour of CrownGate Shopping centre Worcester

Welcome to my lift and escalator tour of the lifts here at Crowngate in Worcester! The shopping centre was built in the late 80s and is split into 2 different parts, the fairy walk which is the indoor part of the centre and the chapel walk which is the outdoor part in the centre. The shopping centre lifts were originally by Schindler and they appear to be maintained by Kone.

Here is a video I took before the I took the pictures of the O&K escalator being worked on: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2TTgWaQjpKdm6c The escalator was undergoing some refurbishment by Airedale Escalators Ltd. Also the lift in Boots was a replacement of an older one. Possibly was an Evans or Thyssen?

7:35 I'm pretty sure they're Stannah's own fixtures, they look a bit like Dewhurst but that's probably because Stannah are a budget company. They could possibly be Dewhurst or maybe some old Switching Components fixtures or possibly even old DMG but I've never seen them on any other lifts.

I’m not too sure. I doubt DMG as I think they only began to exist in the modern times but I think it is likely to be Dewhurst of some sort just in a Stannah panel

LIFT EXCELSIOR thank you! At the moment it is still open as far as I’m aware however it may potentially be one of the stores they plan to close during their administration

Great lift tour! Those Schindlers have a Keighley-ish look to them, so I would consider those Keighley Schindlers. Shame the last lifts are going to be modded, hope Kone don’t do anything awful to them...!

Wildwood's have closed down sadly I came across it today. The lift is still there but derelict.

Yeah I passed it too earlier, shame really as it was a nice restaurant and the lift was interesting. Sad to see the place run down and abandoned now, hopefully they’ll turn it into something else or reopen it someday.

Not sure, if it doesn’t get used that often and if it still works then it’ll probably be left original unless they decide to mod it too
