What to do in Worcester England in a Day | UK Travel Vlog

Spending a day in Worcester? Watch this video to see some of the best things to do in this pretty English cathedral city, including: the best places to eat and drink, Worcester Cathedral (obviously!), Edward Elgar's statue, the River Severn and "Fish Pass".
We started our day with the drive from Birmingham to Worcester (Worcestershire), which took us 45 minutes or so. We parked in the Cattle Market Car Park and paid on our phone for our stay.
We then made our way to Wayland's Yard, where Hannah's friend, Ione, works, for a delicious brunch and some coffees to kickstart our day. If your looking for a cafe to drink and eat at in Worcester, THIS is the place!
After fuelling up we visited a lot of the charity shops about town and made just one purchase (which might be a record for us!). We then made our way to the market and checked out the statue of famous English composer, Edward Elgar, who grew up in Worcester in the 19th century. After looking through the window of a beautiful antiques shop we were right next to Worcester Cathedral just as it started to rain - perfect timing! We paid the suggested donation and wandered around, spending some time in the 11th-century Norman crypt.
When the weather had cleared, we headed back out for a walk along the River Severn, where we saw some rowers, a flamingo, and had views of the Malvern Hills. We then made our way past the weir and "Fish Pass", a feat of engineering to enable the fish to swim back upstream.
We ended our day in Worcester in Impasto with some drinks, tasty Nduja pate and then pizzas! Highly recommended!

We live in Cheltenham, but enjoy going to Worcester about 45 minutes drive away. I enjoy tea and cakes at a place in a kind of passage way, near that street with all the charity shops, where I can sit and have tea or coffee while my wife spends an hour or so in the charity shops.A couple of decent Chinese restaurants in the Tudor style street, running parallel with the main shopping street. Worth a day out, plus going down to the river, but so many places to try still.

We were in Cheltenham over the weekend! Hannah wanted to get to Søstrene Grene as it was on our way back from Tetbury where we'd spent the afternoon. Kudos and thanks for correctly referring to Worcestershire Sauce, not Worcester Sauce, which is the name used by cheap ripoff products. 12 miles north is the Avoncroft Museum of Buildings, just outside Bromsgrove. Started when a medieval building was saved from demolition in Bromsgrove and instead carefully dismantled and rebuilt to the south of the town, on the A38. Elgar composed Land of Hope and Glory, amongst many well known works. If you love canal locks, Tardebigge, between Bromsgrove and Redditch has the longest lock system in England. Good fun for boats if you have the time to navigate all the locks.

Like all small towns,hanging on to City status,virtue if historical religious position, it's a pleasant day out,but living there us not a picnic. Worcester has serious issues air, noise pollution, congestion,poor transport systems, poor green credentials and a lot of bigotry. You wouldn't think it but the Cathedral is a massive bully,ringing the bells on a daily basis, noise nuisance. Congestion is also a serious issue. But not for this basic vlog about a day trip I suppose.

@@pch2230 in unenlightened places,loons dont ring the effin bells 3 or 4 times a week,including ringing the bells for 4 hours over some flippin bishop roamed the earth many centuries ago. To a reasoned mind, there's a time and a place. Sure, Worcester is a backwater, and looks to.the cathedral, with its dodgy past,and even dodgier present, for bringing tourist footfall, most of whom spend little money in the city. Thankfully, I ve long gone and left the town wanting to be a city. My biz is done. But Worcester and it's imbellic bellringers will doubtless go on heaping misery on the civilised. Ever met a bellringer, or campanologist because it obfuscates truth and stupidity of activity. Know that in EU, then slap legal orders, abatements on these misfits. I didn't have time to go to courts. But if I did, I'd likely win. Still I.blame the Roman's...but even they couldnt envisage 12 bells the size of planets, yankedbfir hours by a dozen or so extremely bored deadbeats.
