This makes me wonder if the robot understood the implications of what it was doing or why. Did it plan to make the human lonely and dependent? Did it understand that it was experiencing jealousy? Did it realize there was a permanece to it's actions? Something about the robot's mannerisms keeps switching between childlike and cold hard machine and it almost seems like it's unaware just how awful it's manipulations are. That or it's completely aware and it's just playing cute, hard to tell with robots, haha.
@scribblediary2372 жыл бұрын
Good question haha! I think in my mind he was being a little bit unaware of what he was doing, because he was just so blinded by how much she means to him and maybe overwhelmed by such a strong feeling because after all he is not programmed to feel feelings like that at all. And it’s a Little Bit based off my own experience and when you are just blinded by love I feel like you sometimes loose the ability to put yourself in the other persons shoes and reflect rationally, and that’s exactly what happened to him
@jmassagetherapist67732 жыл бұрын
@@scribblediary237 that point is conveyed really well actually! The way the focus is almost always on the human in a way that feels observational but always in a "what should the robot do next" rather than "what is this person really needing" kind of way. Awesome work by the way, there's clearly so much love put into this, it really shows.

Do regular people realize they are being jealous or do they typically just go for what they want through justification of the pain caused by not having what they want? Destroying the planet doesn't help any mission or the woman in any way. Who would have written a code for a robot that would have it pursue actions that only benefits itself and then have it as an assistant on a space mission?

Funny story - my boyfriend knows I have a very tender spot for uplifting stories and films that revolve around a person losing their significant other (I empathize way too easily with that pain), so when I sent him this, he was especially surprised that the ending was so dark and heartbreaking. I told him how interesting it was that we have been programmed to believe that the cute little AI is equivalent to a sweet dog or something similarly adorable and harmless. I am an experienced writer who really knows how to spot the thought processes and ideas of the storytellers and the twist here really surprised me. I gotta stay on my toes! Great job. 1) Does the robot not realize that the lady will die at some point? She grows gradually older during the story....not to mention how the "reality" of the truth will affect her emotionally/mentally/physically. 2) The woman's mental state is apparent throughout the film - from joy, to shock - to depression. The robot probably needed to coax her to eat because it know she needed to do so to survive. 3) How did the robot know if this particular planet would be suitable for a human to live on atmosphere/food/plants? Sorry, these questions kind of popped in there while looking through the other responses?

I'm your 222nd like, that's something... In all seriousness though, after watching this I feel I should leave a comment, but I really don't know what to say. I'm so delighted that this exists. You killed a piece of my heart and I regret nothing. The animation of course is gorgeous, and perfect for the story, and I need to go sit in a corner for a while Edit upon rewatch: The _color palettes._ This is a masterpiece.

Oh my! I am sorry to hear you had to sit in a corner but also I am so proud hahaha thank you so so much for your comment!! Feels so amazing to know I made someone feel something 😍 and also thanks for liking my color palette, I struggled with that a bunch hahaha

Oof the ending hit me some sort of way. Still enjoy the animation but that just made me go: “Oh so he’s stalking her.” “Is that her bedroom?” “I- wait...hold up.” Nice animation though I like things like these!

Wow, it's cool to actually see your way of thinking. I worked on this so much and watched it so many times that I really have no idea of knowing how the audience members are gonna react or feel or think so it is really interesting for me to see it spelled out like this. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for watching my video!

I was not expecting that- but the art, voice acting, and twist all together was just chefs kiss!

Wow… Just *what a way to start an animation with a bang-* (I am truly sorry) I mean it’s quite rare these days to have such a feeling…
