Lifted my 2021 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro and mounted BFGoodrich KO2 tires!

In this video I geek out over my newly installed Westcott Designs lift kit and BFGoodrich KO2s on my 2021 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro. I’m obsessed with how it turned out! I didn’t think the stock stance looked bad… so I didn’t care much about getting this installed. BUT! It came together so nicely. Not only does it look fantastic, it feels so much nicer now!
What are your thoughts?
Do the white letters look okay with the Lunar Rock color?

Looks great! I recently lifted my 2020 4runner TRD Pro ( Army Green ) with the westcott designs lift and installed Falken Wildpeak AT3w in a 285/70/17. So far I'm very pleased with the ride and handling.

@@bryanpeezy1 yes there is a little rubbing when turning the wheels in reverse, but it's minimal and I ordered some Rocblokz mud flaps which are a little wider and longer than the stock mud flaps and should take care of the rubbing issues at least from the reviews I have read that should take care of the rubbing issues. New mud flaps should be arriving next week sometime.

Man I’m leaning more and more towards the 4Runner for overlanding, moderate Off-roading. GX and LX were my other choices but approach and departure suck, the land cruiser is too big and sucks fuel bad. 4Runner is just the right size with acceptable price, MSRP wise. Yours looks awesome

Have the same 4Runner in Lunar and just did my Westcott as well. Trade offs for sure but stance, bigger tires, eliminating body roll, and nose dive made it worth it. Firmer, feel everything now but I think still worth it. Fox suspension before was a cloud so hard to give up but happy currently.

Just ordered the Westcott collar lift for my 2016 Quicksand. Really excited after seeing how yours turned out. Going to put 285’s on as well. Looks like they didn’t have to take off mud flaps or trip any plastic? So no rubbing?

Great looking truck! Curious if you have had any issues running a 285/70r17 on a 7” wide rim… I’ve seen tons of people do it but wasn’t sure if it caused issues due to the min requirement of 7.5” on the tire spec sheet. Thanks for any input!

A Ok Buddy.... Lol, looks good but looks almost stock...I bought a 2018 Runner new and was hoping to see more development in the 4" suspension lift range but it hasn't really happened. Seems like everyone is satisfied with small leveling kits and the Runner is behind the competition in terms of wheelwell clearance. I love my runner but I'm dissapointed in the aftermarket options 5 years after making a purchase. Any insights are welcome, I'd like to go with a 4" suspension lift and retain the stance fore and aft. leveling kits look weak in my opinion. Nice setup with the Runner and Tundra, beautiful family, kudos' bros.

should have done the Eibach fox spring kit on all 4 instead. Eibach makes the stock springs for the fox trd pro shocks. Thier TRD pro spring kit raises the front 2” and rear 1”. All with just 4 taller Eibach springs that maintianed the same spring rate. The Westcott system changes the preload and alters the spring rate…just like a puck and spacer kit really. I did the Eibach spring kit on my Pro and its insane sweet.

I also considered the Westcott level spacer kit for my 2020 T4R Trd Pro but after watching videos/pics of 4Runners with the kit I'm not sure I like the stance of the "level". In some pics it almost looks like reverse rake. I emailed Westcott about the possibility of them tweaking their kit so that the factory rake can be replicated. No response. In hindsight I should have purchased a base SR5 and kitted it out the way I want.

Looks awesome! Question for you. In the Westcott videos they always take the front mudflaps off when going to 285’s. We’re you able to not have any rubbing of the mudflaps? They’d have to prove without a doubt that the failed component of the vehicle failed due to the lift. Which is unlikely.

I have a 2021 PRO as well and recently put the Westcott lift on. Do you think the headlights are a little high with the lift in the front? The LEDs are definitely brighter overall, but I can see just about anyone in a standard height car getting annoyed about being lit up like that. Is this something you noticed or had any issues with?

So the shop balanced each of the wheels and aligned it after the install. So no issues there. Haven’t experienced any rubbing yet either. Granted I’ve only driven a total of 50 miles since the install. I’ll let you know if I discover any rubbing.

@@UntamedMotors so awesome to hear buddy!! I’ve got a 2018 TRD OR with Bilstein 5100’s set at 0.85” which gives it very similar height to a Pro. I regret not going to 1.75” in the front + 1” in the rear as I’ve heard from Stage3Motorsports that you can squeeze 285’s in there at that height. Only concern is the mpg loss on larger tires due to my commute. Def keep us posted bro! I love the stance 😍🙌🏻

Get the one with deck rail system. It’ll just come with a few extra “extension” plates to allow for your deck system. You’ll love the bakflip.

Hi there - thank you for the content…. I have been a subscriber for some time now. I too have that exact same 21 TRDP in Lunar Rock. I’m debating between no lift and running the 265/70/17 Goodyear UltraTerrain, or installing the Westcott Designs lift (I have it, but haven’t installed it) and installing the 285/70/17. A few questions: A) Do you regret lifting it. B) Is the 4Runner now more bouncy ride because of the stiffer spring rate C) Have you noticed a lot worse fuel mileage/less power. Hope I didn’t overstep on the questions; keep the good content coming!

Hey Harry! Thanks for the comment man, and I appreciate you supporting the channel. For starters, congrats on the lunar rock pro. You have great taste. Hah.I don’t have any regrets with installing the Westcott lift. I truly believe it improved the feel of the vehicle. It’s a bit more firm going over bumps but it holds the road much better… less body roll in turns and way less dive when braking. I noticed a 1mpg drop… no change in power feel. I don’t think you’d regret putting it on. I have a subtle fender rub now but it’s not bad, I think I’ll need to trim a little to make it perfect.

I have a 17 Camaro ZL1 6MT (no sunroof, just the PRD system - total daily driver and go to the road course anyday car). The car only has 7,000 miles on it, perfect condition. There will always be a drop off in power and mpg when you put bigger tires on and lift. More rubber the engine has to move and higher up it is the less efficient it will be but nothing crazy. I have Falken wildpeak 33’s on mine and noticed a slight drop in power and mpg but it’s not too much where you will regret. Totally worth it especially if you off road and need the extra capability those mods give you. If you are just driving it as a daily driver and don’t really off road and just for looks then not sure if it’s worth it since the 4Runner still looks great stock but those are personal decisions. Either way you will be happy with your 4Runner. Best vehicle I’ve ever owned and will never get rid of it.
