I appreciate this very much. It's encouraging to hear what I'm doing is of value to you. I'm learning the importance of what we choose to allow to take up space in our minds. Meditation is a good start to begin to strengthen our ability to focus our attention and remove distractions.

Lifted Noise literally my MPC Live and Laptop just came this morning. I’ve been waiting in agony letting everything charge up fully for the past 8 hours. I upgraded from an MPC 2500 that I also just finished maxing out and am passing down to my 14 year old who is all about finger drumming. He’s salty now because I told him he’s gotta master the older MPC workflow before I let him touch my LIVE. LOL

What pad settings do you use? I feel like my pads aren't responding well they seem inconsistent, I've tried some different sensitivity and threshold settings but can't seem to get them feeling right. I have a maschine mk3 and had a mpc 1000 and never had this issue just got the Mpc Live and I'm loving it except for the pads. Thanks man, your content is great!

I haven't noticed any inconsistencies in my pads and I dont recall ever changing the settings I believe I have them at whatever the default is. Also I always keep my pads velocity at FULL LEVEL. Thanks for the comment!

Fam I felt so dyslexic trying to finger drum, just upgraded from an mpk mini to a live stand alone, and I'm tired of doing every sound one by one lol I could play the kick and snare but as soon as I try a third pad both hands end up doing the same motion and I end up hitting pads at the same time
@LiftedNoise3 жыл бұрын
🤣 yea that's normal when you start out. It's like patting your head and rubing your stomach, it takes some practice to separate those actions with each hand. I recommend starting with your hihat(right hand) so you have a constant count 1 2 3 4 and as you do this, with your left hand bring in the kick and snare alternating kick on 1 snare on 2 kick on 3 snare on 4. Once you get that down you can move on to more advanced patterns

@ Lifted Noise - Hows your world Raul. i've been watching your vids for a minute (i'm subscribed to your channel).. you're probably one of the main reasons my curiosity for the MPC Live got to where it is. So i just got the MPC Live (after not messing with the MPC since i moved on from the 2000XL & 2500 way back). For years now, i've been on a ton of Maschine controllers, & i find these Legendary MPC pads to really need some tweaking.. i'm trying to adjust the Pad Sensitivity for finger drumming.. right now you have to hit them really hard, & i can't get any versatility in my playing. Could you advise how to do that, any help you could give would be appreciated.. Peace .. keep up the detailed very informative vids
@LiftedNoise4 жыл бұрын
Appreciate hearing that, doing well. Hbu?🙏 I believe someone asked me this before. I've never touched the sensitivity for the pads. I turn full level on. I make use of pad layers set to cycle with velocity and pitch per layer set slightly different. Not likely the answer you where searching for but it's what I've been doing. Hopefully helps you out.
@reoscorpio4 жыл бұрын
@@LiftedNoise - alright cousin, thanks for the reply. From asking around in different places I got this: to adjust your pad sensitivity, first hit menu button, tap the gear icon on the top toolbar, select hardware on the left side of your MPC screen, and that's where you'll find settings to adjust the pad sensitivity. I don’t know how effective they are.. but y’all can try.. (shot out to Poli Popo for that info on his KZbin page). i am noticing with the MPC pads, the pressure sensitivity is most responsive to a lighter touch, on the edge of the pad... & when i lightly tap on the edge, i can get a low volume sound, but the same amount of pressure in the center of the pad doesn't generate any sound at all... so i'll have to develope a different technique on these pads (that’s different from what I do on the Maschine pads, where you can just lightly brush your finger on the pad.. & get a soft sound). Hope that helps someone.. Peace

Great vid! Do you edit the velocity settings on the pads for finger drumming? Seems like I have to hit the pads pretty hard for max velocity with the default settings. You’re getting what looks like a real soft touch there.

I forgot to mention, I keep it on full velocity. Edit* FULL LEVEL button above the pads.

Hello my guru lifted noise, thank you for responding so promptly to me the other day , i do have another question for you, i now realize the you can do many sequences within a sequence but how do you make the tempo for the individual sequences remain independent? i save them but during playback they are like the previous is there a fix to that?
@LiftedNoise4 жыл бұрын
I'm assuming you actually mean, many Sequences within a project...? Under your bpm you'll see it written Master, if you press this it will change and say sequence. When it is set to sequence you will have independent control of each sequence tempo.

Thanks! I would say about a year.. I used to finger drum just drum beats, like three sounds..kick, snare, hat. But not until a about 2 years ago I intentionally started to practice doing whole beats by restructuring my workflow so that everytime I made a beat it would be in a finger drum layout. I haven't been practicing as much for the majority of this year. So yea about a year.
