Amazing job Lift! Moving from one of the most complex assemblies to the absolute fastest and easiest was no easy task.... All while trying to preseve some semblance of compatibility in wings too. 👏 However... One concern still remains unconfirmed. Is there or will there finally be an auto-safety-lock on the remote to mitigate unintentional accidental acceleration??? Lift is the ONLY brand without this common basic safety feature. A fully functioning end-to-end engine cutoff switch will require confirmation action from the opporator prior to acceleration. To satisfy the numerous existing and experienced Lift riders, the lock could be deactivated by choice in a settings menu. A very simple solution to satisfy everyone.

Seconded for (optional) auto-safety-lock feature. Should be easy to add to both current remotes with a firmware update and would inspire a lot more confidence on the water.

So the major differences between the Lift5 and Lift4 are quick releasing mast and wings, different board design and battery? Does the new battery have longer run times? I love the innovation but was afriad the new Lift5 was going to make my Lift4 obsolete. But for the time being, it looks like ill stick with my current board 😊

Can you fly with the battery? Foildrive built batteries to meet this problem and you can adapt to any brand foil system you already own. Those should have been the first two goals of Lift 5

If you're set on Lift as a brand, you will find lower prices in the fiberglass options or better yet, in the used market. Otherwise you can check out brands like Waydoo, SiFly, or the inflatable Flite Air Pro.

Development curve is getting flatter, dont worry, go flying!

This is somewhat true, but just like the cell phone industry, the curve is flattening and designs have become very mature. Prices will likely fall as competition catches up but unless you are competing at the top end, there is no "need" to upgrade your gear regularly. My favorite foil was released in 2023 ish. More importantly, if you take good care of your gear, it will take good care of you (most of the time). Focus more on improving your skills rather than how brand new equipment might compare to what you have.

I got my lift 4 a year and a half ago and I'm very glad I didn't put off that purchase just so I could buy this new board now.
