In the pages of the Bible, Chorazin (a.k.a. Korazim) is recorded as being one of the cities where Jesus had preached and performed miracles. Today, there is a national park that preserves the ancient city of Chorazin. But here is the problem - How do we really know that this is the actual biblical Chorazin?
This site had been excavated for over 100 years, but almost nothing substantial was found that dated back to the time of Jesus. The earliest findings were of the late third century.
We had been here before, two years ago, and made a video about this place. We met with the lead archaeologist, Achia Cohen Tavor, who was searching for evidence of a first-century dwelling, but back at that time, they did not yet find the evidence. So we left this place with a big question - Is this really the Chorazin that’s mentioned in the Bible?
But, today we are back! We are back because Achia is making a groundbreaking discovery. He was given permission to lift the floor of the ancient synagogue. So, join us today as we come alongside Achia on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to excavate an ancient synagogue of Chorazin!

Special thanks to the park’s administration for having us. You can contact the Korazim Park administration for more questions at this email: Korazim@npa.org.il

Shalom. Try starting your Shabbat (Saturday's) with Sergio and Rhoda instead. We are still supposed to be keeping Shabbat, not Sunday. The pagan Romans, Constantine, the Roman Catholic Church and the Jesuits changed the Sabbath to Sunday. But search the scriptures, and you will see that even the apostles after he rose from the grave, still kept the sabbath on saturday. Lost scrolls even tell us that "they will return to keeping torah and sabbath's, in the last days". Shalom.

@@Watchman73 From the earliest days of the Church, Sunday was the day of worship because Our Lord rose from the dead on Sunday, the first day of the week. The Romans, whether they were pagan or Christian had nothing to do with this. The sabbath was not changed at all because it remained the day of worship for Jews. And the Catholic Church has worshiped God on Sunday from the time of St. Peter who was the first pope, until the present day. You are wrong and terribly confused.

The life and death of the entire planet and of all that exists on this planet, hinges upon the identity of the Messiah. It is so refreshing to see that there are archaeologists who search for the time of the Christ (the Messiah) rather than just digging for the sake of information. Achia strikes me as a believer and may God bless him and his family and bring him great success in his excavations. Thanks for the video guys and may the One True God and Eternal Life bless you both.- 1 John 5:20.
@EdOfTheNorth
@EdOfTheNorth 3 жыл бұрын
@Justice League So you are one of those people who simply accepted that what was thought to be bedrock was bedrock when in fact it was not. Achia wanted to know if the site was the Chorazin of the time of the Messiah and he kept searching for that reason. He found the proof while decades of prior archaeologists found nothing. Mmmm..... something to be learned from that. Personally I would not want you for a judge because of your own admission you are not committed to search for the evidence relevant to the dig. Just believing what others tell you is a great way to pervert history though, but that is not honorable at all.

@Gaz Gandalf "Christianity is PROVEN and can be traced through history" the only thing is that can be proven about Christianity is the fact that the it's been a practicing faith/theology or 2000 years but you can't prove any of the major events actually happened.
@ohuntermc9321
@ohuntermc9321 3 жыл бұрын
@Gaz Gandalf For example the resurrection in the new testament, in the Hebrew bible the supposed destruction of cities by Yahweh in the book in Joshua has almost no archaeological evidence (some of the supposed cities were not even occupied at the time) , the great flood and Adam and Eve (a story that shares striking similarities to the epic of Gilgamesh and the Enuma Elish tablets) which is so clearly a mythological tale that circulated during that period.
@ohuntermc9321
@ohuntermc9321 3 жыл бұрын
@Gaz Gandalf again Christianity is REAL in the sense that it is theological that is practiced in society even to this day but the events talked about in the bible cannot be proven, its as simple as that.
@ohuntermc9321
@ohuntermc9321 3 жыл бұрын
But also you have the burden of the old testament nevertheless, because if the stores in the Hebrew bible are not true than that causes tremendous issues for the new testament which draws heavily from the Hebrew scripture.

Its amazing to see the trail were Jesus/Yeshua has walked. And the archeological discovery’s that Achia makes. When I was in Israël, I was so thrilled to walk at the roads Jesus walked also, and at the same time, I was thinking that when this is already so exiting, how much more exiting will it be to walk with Jesus Himself and see Him from face to face. Now we see just a footprint, a path, a barren road, a shadow, but then we will see Him as He is. And we have to remember dear brothers and sisters, that He is alive today and that He will reign forever and ever. He is our Saviour and King! Blessings to you all, from the Netherlands 🇳🇱

Great video!! I love history, to think jesus walked that same pathway, so amazing! But it's not that uncommon..my family homesteaded in Arkansas in the 1820s..my grandmother and both my great aunts lived on that homestead until they passed. When I was a young boy, I could go deeper into the woods behind my grandmother's house, before they logged the area, and you could still find the old stage coach wagon trails, which before that were oxen trails, which ran all the way up into the Virginia area from the 1700s, and of course before that these same trails were used by the native people's as trade routes, for lord only knows how long. I think y'all used to live in Florida, I know in Louisiana, and Florida there are highways called the spanish trail, or trace, people don't realize it but these follow the trade roads of the Spanish, which of course we're native trade routes before that, people always take the easiest route, and often the older highways still followed the more ancient trade routes...because they were the path of least resistance, it is the same everywhere. That trail, is almost surely still sitting in the same route that Jesus walked so long ago, we are tied to our past in so many ways...and often we don't even know it. Thanks again for the video, I really look forward to watching each one. Have a blessed day!

I woke up at 1:45 am with a arthritic backache, so I turned on KZbin until my pain medicine would kick in and I found your channel in my suggested feed. I have watched a couple of your programs and subscribed to your channel. Thank you for the great service that you are doing. I truly appreciate it. I am from Osgood, Indiana USA. May God bless you both.

I really DIG Archeology, (Pun Intended) as a child in the 60's I spent so much time digging in my back yard, with my shovel and pale, to find treasures of the Past that might be there. I would, as a little girl also, take old tube radios apart to see how they worked. My major in College was Forensic Psych. (A bit of a waste for someone who is Born Again, and knows the real answers to Our mental problems and pain come from Yeshuah), but I have always loved Geology and Archeology and wish I had gone that way. But, with Mudfossil University, and the good work being done in Our Holy Land, I am more than satisfied, and I am still ROCKIN , Hallelujah!

I was lucky enough to be taken by the lead archaeologist into the 1st century synagogue with a mosaic floor unearthed at the excavation site at Magdala a few years ago, quite close to Corazin in Galilee. What a treat! I volunteered with the dig just for a few days, although very hard work in that hot sun even in January. Galilee is such a fascinating historical area and well worth a visit.
