Has anyone had a problem with the audio on Karina’s videos suddenly speeding up and her voice sounding like she’s been breathing in helium? I haven’t noticed that on any other channel, so I assume it’s something to do with her channel. This happens on my iPad and on KZbin on the tv, if that means anything. She has become my go-to for sewing information, so I watch her a lot!

@@LiftingPinsandNeedles Just a few times more often this video than usual (and easily ignored either way, but also hopefully the feedback is ok?). I have had this problem before when editing lectures (I'm an academic and we all had to record things and post them online in 2020-21) and for me it turned out to be a keyboard shortcut that was increasing both the speed of the video *and* the pitch of the audio, so when I thought I had just accidentally pressed the wrong key but nothing had happened, welp, it just made a quiet edit! :D I only mention it here in case that rings a bell for you. Love your videos :)

Very cute tops, Karina! And I love how you’re creating little capsules as you go along. Just a note: I like to be careful when altering / fitting clothes inside out - the left front bodice will be on the right side of your body, and vice versa. This isn’t a problem unless addressing asymmetry.

Thank you for the video, I love princess seams too and I am always between sizes and it has never occurred to me to sew the side seams and then fit the bust. I have a vogue princess seam dress that I have made a number of times and each time, I have needed to make it slightly smaller. I will do this next time.

About the sleeves. It’s a sleeveless armhole. A totally different draft so it’s not just about putting sleeves on it at all. The armhole is shorter and narrower so a sleeve would not fit. The whole armhole would have to be redone.

You have made we want to purchase this pattern, I do enjoy your in-depth instructions and tips very much. I see that you have excess fabric in the upper bust area as I do in everything I make unless I do a narrow chest adjustment. I’m not certain how I would accomplish that fitting on this pattern. Would you suggest pinching it out on the princess seam (which seems like it may not work on a curve), or would you alter the bust point? Thank you.

Pinching it out on a curve does work as long as it’s not a large amount. The bust point is actually matching mine in this pattern but being between cup sizes makes this have extra steps to fit. I did put my vest on while sewing a pinched a little extra from the curve.

Everytime I watch one of your videos I usually end up purchasing the pattern.... Using your link to get to the pattern company. But once I do this I order the pattern after I go to "my acct" on the website after using your link. I've always wondered if you still get commission for the sale. There's really no way to double check. I wish the sites had a way to check this. I know when I use your discount codes it gets registered but when there isn't a code to use but just a link, then moving on to our accts to place the order.... I assume and hope you do get credit for my purchases because as I said I usually order the pattern your featuring if I dont have it already.

I’ve wondered the same thing. I now open up my account for the pattern company in another tab (which I just close later). When your garment is inside out, left and right are reversed, so when you altered the "right" side, it was actually the left bust. Oops!

Would overlocking along the edges of the fabric negate the need to stay stitch or would this distort the fabric.

@@sewlovemydogs serging would stretch the curves out a lot. It does not make sense to serge because these areas will be covered with binding. Serging is not related to stay stitching at all.
