Today I am sharing a project in collaboration with Whitney, from TomKat Stitchery, another great sewing channel. We both made the brand-new Atenas Jackets from Itch to Stitch. I am showing the sewing construction of the front and back pattern pieces, sharing my fit muslin / Toile and fitting adjustments. I may have made two! The Atenas is a jacket designed for medium weight wovens like Denim, Twill. Sizes O-20US with individual cup sizes A to DD. An amazing pattern!

*Lengthened the sleeves by ½” at the shorten/lengthen line
*Customized the shape of the double princess seams to my upper bust shape
*Blue denim jacket top stitched with grey color

My comment will be the same as everyone. Beautiful, beautiful. I have not watched Whitney 's but I will. In the 70's (I know I'm very much dating myself )I made a classic princess seam dress jacket out of recycled demin. All flat felt seams. I loved that Jacket. Wore it out! I'm still using the 6020 Viking I made it on. I have other machines but it is such a work horse. I always come back to it. Again the jackets are lovely. I'll be thinking jacket as I'm looking at home decor fabric. 😆

Loved this video. Love your finished jackets. Not something I would make for some of the same reasons regarding my sewing machine. I do have a really good Bernina, and I think it would plow through if I asked it too, but being computerized etc, I would really hate to knock out the tension, or have other problems resulting from getting stuck in the fabric thickness or making a pig's ear of the whole project. I recognize the Old Roses fabric. I used to sell fabric in my business. It is hilarious that you found it in Bolivia of all places.

I know right?! And for pennies worth. I knew it was special when I spotted it and had be hoarding it since 2015. My second machine is not electronic and I used that one for the thicker layers. I do worry about their “health” so am worried to not over do. Thank you so much for watching.
