The Schindler lift that broke on you is a very interesting case Basically you pressed the call button so much you managed to crash the controller, you could hear after the doors closed a kind of musical tone coming from the lift which is basically what those do when rebooting You could've got in it and it would've worked fine they do this reasonably often That type of Schindler is not a good lift

On that floor 1 button I'm guessing one of the switches in the button wasn't working it has one that makes it beep and one that accepts the call, so that's why it is possible to make it beep without it accepting the call but I've never seen one with a beep switch working but not the call accepting one

And on another note that Gen2 issue I have seen elsewhere on my channel actually I got in a Gen2 and it just randomly beeped because funny

gonna reply to these in one reply because its easier for me lol #1 (Schindler) - the weird thing is how i did the same thing later on after it reset and it handled it fine, perhaps its just a rare occurrence that it happens as i've seen other people do the crazy chime trick on 3300s and they haven't had any issues with it. Don't think the maintenance on the one that had the issue for me is the best tho, so its probably to do with that rather than the quality of the lift, as aside from that one issue, every 3300 i've seen has been great in pretty much every aspect. #2 (1 button) - It would be interesting if they wired the circuit up that way but in another way could make sense, i have a dewhurst call button panel where the top contact of the button changes the lit LEDs from white to green for up button/red for down button, and the bottom contact does the beep, but idk exactly how they do it when used in a lift, i would have expected the whole thing (LED, beep, call registration) can be done with 1 contact so that if someone doesn't press it fully it'll still work. As you say could just be a faulty contact but it's difficult to tell without knowing how those particular buttons have been wired #3 (Gen2) - yeah the gen2 random beeping is funny XD i'd guess there's a faulty connection somewhere that could be the cause but idk

I have came across many glitchy lifts in my time of lift enthusiasm. One of the best ones being a Temple Lift with a Lester Controls controller which kept randomly going into car preference mode despite nobody inserting the key for it. Those same set of lifts also have an issue where the number on the indicator froze while the lift went up and when it stopped at the floor it suddenly corrects itself but what is weird is that the landing indicator stayed it was on inspection service despite the fact the lift was fully functional. Another interesting time was when a Kone lift was moving like normal but as it arrived at the bottom floor, it suddenly E-stopped and then sunk down to the floor at levelling speed then cancelled all the calls. Luckily we weren’t trapped as the lift was back up and going again. About the Schindler 3300 that messed up, there is a possibility it could be from caching too many call button presses causing its EEPROM (internal memory) to full up. Either that or maybe it was a glitch in the controller. Typically most of these types of issues are due to controller failures/bugs, hardware issues or just general poor maintenance or reliability. I suppose that goes to show how vital adequate maintenance is. Good compilation btw

those are some very weird glitches you're discussing there! I'd say the Schindler glitch I've shown is down to poor maintenance which has meant the logic is not performing optimally. The second clip of that lift shows how the chime should behave when it works correctly

Pretty much yeah. Most of the time these lifts act in a dodgy way due to their owners failing to maintain them enough or the lift company that looks after the lift doesn’t maintain them enough, as if the lift equipment is not maintained enough or not maintained well enough it’s prone to breakdowns, performance issues and other issues

@@blue.light.fazbear Well that's not great! We have two of those lifts at my school, and they are rather prone to do this all the time. I tried this trick once and it went out-of-service. I came back at the end of the day, and it was out of service again! This happens a lot because on the middle floor the call button lights up and then goes off after a second, but the lift has still been called. Because of this people spam it thinking it isn't working and then it will go out-of-service, no-matter what it is doing. It makes a fair racket when it slams to a stop when this happens. At least it stops I guess!

On the Gen2, there are Otis RS14 remotes. For the DOB, 0 and 1 buttons, you have an RS14 remote, for the DCB, priority keyswitchn you have another remote, and for the bip, there is an RS-BUZ remote with a buzzer. The remotes are on bus communication.
