Light Cone Luck & Penacony Purgatory [Honkai: Star Rail Erudition Only]

Jing Yuan had a rerun in Star Rail just as Penacony was released so we set out to both try and grab some eidolons and light cones before the banners expired, as well as explore Penacony's story for the first time.
Is it possible to beat the content of Honkai: Star Rail with ONLY Erudition Characters? That means the story, forgotten hall, simulated universe, etc.
With no sustain of any kind, it's definitely gonna be a challenge for us... And getting a Himeko on the account is all we can hope for with our first 5 star

In the xianzhou there is a consumable called the prayer machine that heals you 1k HP for 3-5 turns. You should look into that because it'll help

So, with how the meta evolved, it definitely seem like Erudition may have been one of if not the hardest paths to solo (Hunt is prob the hardest though) Abundance & Preservation at least have sustain, which yes, will make the battles take for ever, but you prob won't die too often Destruction despite being an offensive path, has units with a lot of defensive utility. Clara's light cone can semi heal her, Xueyi e2 heals upon follow-up activation, Blade actually is un-killable in certain situations and generally a bit more defence for the units. Nihility has proven to become a top tier path, and Acheron has pushed ahead the Nihility only meta, with characters that somewhat helps with sustain like Welt, or characters that don't care about weakness types like Silver Wolf. Then untop of that, you can run DoT teams, whom already often run 3 DoT characters. Then there's Harmony, who I can't really predict how would function in a mono setting. They have some of the best units for buffing, meaning that you prob could push out dmg from some units (Yukong primarily I would think), so I suppose it's not all that bad, you still lack the sustain, but considering the element, it wouldn't surprise me if a Harmony character eventually has a bit more sustaining attributes (Ruan Mei kinda does, in a similar vain to Welt, with delaying enemies' actions) All in all, kudos for sticking to the Erudition path, even though at times it can feel bleak. No Sustain, no single target focus makes bosses rough & lack of SP since most wants to use their skill, & we don't even have full type coverage due to lack of Wind & Imaginary. As you say, we can hope there's a future Erudition character who leans more support orientated (I don't really see how a straight up Erudition healer could work without becoming an Abundance character, but maybe someone who has self-healing properties), and then maybe also characters of the missing types, which would be nice.

As someone with a Harmony only account I can say it is rough but not to bad yet. Granted there is an up coming boss fight that is an AOE check and I'm not looking forward to it. Basically anything that AOE heavy becomes difficult. If Jimothy Yuan wasn't forced on you I probably would have been stuck on Phantiliya (I can farm the mats at lower difficulties). The account will get easier with a Ruan Mei rerun and Harmony TB but currently I just have Bronya (very lucky start), Asta, Hanya and Sparkle. I've not done Sparkle's weekly boss yet (really want Yukong or HTB first) or most of Penacony.

@@xuk6042 ​ Robin was indeed a game changer. I did both fights in the patches they released so I didn't even have Harmony MC yet. Had to use full tank builds and consumables while min-maxing the stat disparity possible at EQL 4 (fully leveled 5* relics).

There is a consumable that you can unlock from the aurum alley event that heals everyone (including the enemies) by 1000 HP per turn for a set number of turns. 1000 HP is nothing to a boss but could greatly prolong your team's ability to stay in the fight. So my advice is unlock the consumable (prayer machine) and swap everyone back to damage relics.

penacony enemies do hit hard but you also just reached max eq lv. which is nice for slightly better relic rewards and basically nothing else, as my half-built characters have been having a bitch of a time with combat events and story bosses. also there should be a new erudition character or two... soon... we don't know really star rail banners are hard to predict. look forward to seeing where it goes next! although we may remain stuck on something unto death for the time being

If you don’t have the ‘Prayer Machine’ consumable recipe I highly recommend it. The consumable does “upon use, all allies and enemies will restore 1000 hp at the start of the turn for the next battle, lasting for 5 turns.” It’s such a good consumable!

a trick for the memory zone meme boss: when it starts to use the skill that shows the eyes above your characters, it will refund all ur characters energy and steal 2 chars who make actions first BUT this can be used as a trick for low hp characters. when u break the paralyze on the stolen characters, they will be refunded to 50% hp and 100% energy regardless if they were in high hp or low hp before being stolen by the meme. i always use this trick to revive my low hp characters to 50% hp, just make sure u timed ur ults on characters u want to revive

Your best option is to nuke his first phase for sure. There is another KZbinr who did a trailblazer only series and he was able to nuke the first phase with physical trailblazer (though he did lose to the team size check mechanic of the meme in phase 2). So yes, you basically just have to build qingque the best you can to absolutely destroy him

Nope, the person you are talking about is Moosashi, and he completely maxrd out TB and also had very low equillibrium, meaning that the boss has far less hp than normal. So unless Java can do like 200k dmg instantly, he aint surviving

There is a food item called the "Prayer Machine" it might really help you out in future boss battles. What it does is heal your characters for 1000 hp for 5 turns straight. You can buy it aurum alley I think
