As much as you hate the cold, Arizona or New Mexico would be a perfect retirement destination for you! LOL! Of course, all of your family would have to be willing to move, too! I feel that same way every fall, but I'm still in the same community that I was born in so very many yrs ago! Loved your Sat Chat today. It hit a humorous spot that I really needed. Hi Lindsay, another well love sat chat!! As a former hair stylist, I'm so pleased to hear you sound so educated and informed on how to color your own hair!! I think it looks great! I was in the hair industry when Ash/green tones were out; so it was our mission to add warmth to everyone's hair. I personally feel like you have a warmer skin tone, so warm undertones in your hair are a great fit for you! I actually love those glossy type hair colors as it is something you can recommend for those clients that are DIYer and perfer less salon time. It's a great way to blend out new growth and refresh the look of color treated hair. I currently have virgin hair (aka non color treated hair), but you making me want to refresh my hair for the winter season. Maybe some warm red as my eyes are green and I have level 6 medium brown hair. I really appreciate all you deals hunt posts as they are very helpful in saving money on great products! I hope you get a good kick back as I feel pray to buying more sketchbooks and paints! I think I'm a bit obsessed myself!!

Lindsay, i totally enjoyed your derwent garlic project hosted by Michaels. I have taken the survey and had so much fun. It was a challenge to do it on regular white colored pencil paper instead of the tan colored one. The white’s didn’t show up as much so had to use the wheat color from the set. But total fun! Jay (last name escapes me) from the Philippines reviewed those paints and said they reminded him, I think, of Paul Rubens. They are nice, clean paints, but yeah, the packaging is da-bomb. Lovely Sat-chat. Can't wait to see what you made for your sister.

Just watched his review on these paints too....also left a comment for Lindsay (didn't see your comment). Lots of this company is still a mystery though....went to their website but no address or company information. Overall, buying on Amazon is a sense of security that you will get them if you buy them. Nice sweater!! I love crisp, cool Fall! I love “sweater weather” 😄! I sometimes think it’s unfortunate for me that I moved to coastal Virginia for work, and it is still pretty warm here this time of year (summers are brutal!) We do get a true Fall, but not for a few more weeks. The trade-off is usually very mild Winters - compared to winters in New Jersey ❄️ (or New England 🥶!) But I miss wearing jeans and boots and sweaters. It generally isn’t cold enough -for me - to wear them until maybe mid-winter. Even then, I used to come down here in February to get away from snow where I used to live!

When it comes to staying warm, living in the north country for many years taught me to stay with natural fibers. Believe it or not, silk is one of the warmest. I too have trouble wearing synthetic fibers. Understand completely.

I was so tempted by the Sakura Koi paints because of their "whoosh." I'm so glad I resisted! I have an appt on Tuesday to see about an apartment! Maybe after 2.5 years of living with others, I'll be back in my own place and able to leave the painting materials out as long as I want/ need to! I found a wonderful way to avoid seeing most of my beginning art; I paint on watercolor cards and mail them to friends.😁 Snow is great as long as one doesn't need to drive or "has" to go out in it. It's even better when it's on the mountain about half an hour away so one can go play in it and then come back home to safe roads. I strongly dislike clothes shopping, mainly because there is a 10 size difference between my top and bottom. I love Amazon's "Try before you buy" program. I can try it on and return it, if necessary, without waiting in line. Thankfully, the local CVS is a UPS drop-off point. You look great today, as always. The sweater and hair just brighten up your face. Thanks for another fun Sat Chat. P.S. if love to see the wooden box paint review.

Took a look on Amazon at the watercolor palette of wood and paints. Just a few reviews so far and yeah can't find where they are made or where they came from! LOL But the wooden palette is nice. I see that the mixing area can come out away from the wooden box. Hmmmmm.... well if it is sparking your curiosity, then go for it! Would love to hear from you on how these paints are. Only one negative review. You don't need a script for Sat Chat Saturday! You always have great stuff to talk about. I joined Critique Club a few days ago and having trouble with getting things done in my life with all the crazy stuff going on in the world. Happy sat chat morning to you ☕ Prime day, I got the Posca colored pencils. They were $37 for the 36 set. They are like buttah. But that is the largest set of pencils they make 😕 Also got some wool work socks and a carburetor kit for the leaf blower, to round out prime days. I did stop buying yarn when I find it on sale or at a thrift store. Stamps too. De-stashed a LOT of that stuff, only to fill it with different stuff 😅 Sprawl, that is the perfect word for my art area, it's sprawled from a table, to half of a room, my bedroom, and another corner in the living room. Then I have kitchen items sprawl to the living room. Like when I proof bread overnight, it works best when I put the bowl on the couch 😂🤷‍♀️ Have a great weekend brassy broad 😄 I will be doing the Michaels class on Monday!! 🥰

Your hair color is beautiful. And your smile makes everything glow. Took a few days off from 30 days to better watercoloring to get some of the last fresh vegetables and fruits at our local stand. Fresh tomatoes, green beans, zucchini, eggplant, potatoes, green peppers, apples,cauliflower, and cabbage..so today was all about cooking and filling the fridge for a few days. I’m sure this is the last hurrah for that. And they also had fresh baked cinnamon, caramel, pecan rolls…don’t need them but couldn’t resist…half for the freezer, but yeah, that’s my day. Just LOVE Sat chat. ❤

Hi Lindsay, I wanted to make you aware of a deal that I've been seeing over the past 24 hours on Amazon, although you may already know. The Derwent Inktense Pencils, set of 72, are ping-ponging between $114 and $95 dollars. I saw them yesterday morning for $95, but by the afternoon, they were up to $114. However, this morning, they were back down to $95. On Blick, this set is still selling for $150, so this seems like a decent deal, in case any viewers are interested! Comes out to a per pencil price of $1.32 vs open stock on Blick at $2.10.

Lindsey, I’ve really gotten into handmade water colours and I really value your opinion. I was wondering if you could do a pallet review of your handmade Watercolor collections and also do swatches.?

I don't have much handmade paint, honestly. I don't find it to be a good value (the labor costs push up the price, which is fair, but it doesn't make it better to commercial watercolor) over commercial paint. I have some Mashas watercolor, which is lovely. It was a gift and has unique properties, but I haven't looked for more due to cost/benefit analysis. I'm sure there are other youtube channels that do review handmade paints tho.

Also hate clothes shopping. The fabric feel is an issue for me too. Spent a few days at my girlfriends house and she made her favorite Indian dishes . She had to dial back some of the heat for me but I tried so many new spices. So delish and mostly vegetarian..Working Inktober and having a hard time with some of the prompts. Your pieces have been beautiful. Don't you usually go toward red with your hair in the fall and winter? Well have a great week. I didn't buy on prime days this year and proud of myself for the restraint.

That food sounds great! I usually colorvmy hair red in the fall but I am trying to grow it out and the red is a pain. I had the hardest time getting it to take but they'll when I wanted it out I couldn't get rid of it. It makes such a mess too so I think I'll move to darker blond for the winter.

I too hate shopping and have mostly returned broken items. Clothes just find a new home with someone else unless the clothes were really expensive. I like your hair with the added warmth. Enjoy your time of no gray. I have dark brown hair with some red in it, so the gray/white roots are shocking. I’m debating cutting my hair short then bleaching it blonde because I’m tired of fighting the gray. I turn 57 in a month so that might be my birthday present to myself

I'm definitely going to check into that hair product. Mine is 49 shades of grey, but used to be a medium blonde. I don't want to dye it, but I always liked the way it felt after I did when I used to. Maybe this will give it a little boost. You look great today as always, by the way. I missed the garlic class, but had signed up so I'll get the replay soon. The ornament looks really cute. I resisted the wooden storage cases during prime, but they sure are nice looking. Christmas is coming! I like the terms you used about sprawling and being a goldfish. That's so me! Hmmmm. That watercolor brand is weird. Only one product. But the brush looks nice! Anyway, I finished up the garlic drawing last night and I love it. I’ve never done a colored pencil piece before. I need to replace my yellow ochre pencil, apparently it got dropped at some point and the core kept breaking, but I managed. The bauble class will be fun, I need to decide what I will do for my Christmas cards.

Before you toss it place it under a hot heating pad or water bottle for 20 minutes. Let it cool then try sharpening it. Sometimes you can re-melt the core and save it.

Returning all but one. 😅 I don’t know if you should buy the palette for review, based on the name of the shop owner, it might be white labeled by Rosa or maybe Yarka? I know Yarka has poured pans? I would wait for a sale or coupon though.
