Scott wrote this song for his nephew and he insisted that Avi sing the lead because Avi's lovely expressive and heartfelt vocal quality fulfilled Scott's artistic vision for the song. Avi kills it!

@@candicewhittlesey6343 I’m not really sure Mitch contributed to the song… When I first became a fan of PTX, it was generally assumed that Scott composed the piece himself. I’ve been a fan since 2013, by the way. (Not saying you’re incorrect; I’m just saying this is new info for me.)

This is the clearest-sounding video of their Light in the Hallway that I could find in youtube. This song is just so much sadder now... The first thing I did after hearing their announcement was frantically checking the dates, wishing that it was April. Pentatonix probably waited for April to end before giving us the bad news, fearing that some of us would have thought it was some sick April fools joke....:*(

If you haven't found it Second Sound Lyrics has the best audio (and the lyrics projected over a nice photo of light bulbs) of any version I have heard. I cannot believe there is not an official version of one of their best songs !!
