Your painting style is exactly what I love about watercolour and you are a master at controlling the paint and water as you move it around on your paper. Plus, I really appreciate how you add instructions using printed text because I take screenshots and that way I can easily refer to it when I am having a go at my version of your abstract landscapes. You are a very talented teacher so thank you for sharing those talents with us.

This is an amazing tutorial! And the painting is as well. Did you work from a photo and/or a sketch before starting to paint, or did you work from imagination? Simply stunning! Thank you for sharing.

I notice you often put two birds in. I do that also. It represents, for me, my wife and myself. Does it mean anything to you?
@AnastasiaMily
@AnastasiaMily Жыл бұрын
To me the birds are a symbol of freedom and travelling the world, and the two birds mean they are not alone on the journey (and on a subconscious level they probably do represent those endless road trips my husband and I have been on )

I don't have sodalite, and it's really pricey. I think I can blend Moonglow with a bit of DS indigo and get really close, and maintain the granularity with the Moonglow.
@AnastasiaMily
@AnastasiaMily Жыл бұрын
Any darker, muted blue would do really. Sodalite is a more expensive pigment, I agree, good thing the tube does last quite a bit.

I really love your paintings. I enjoy watching your creative process as you paint. I also love your color pallet choices, adding a little purple to this color pallet is something I’ve never considered, love it. I paint in a very similar style, always going for a feeling over detail. One thing I do differently is when I paint tree branches and trunks, I use a rigor brush and hold it at the end of the handle with my fingertips, it gives me a feeling of spontaneity, I never know what I’ll get and I think it makes my trees look more organic.

Thank you so much for your kind words, and I am glad you enjoy watching my videos. Oh and creating tree trunks with a rigger brush is such fun! I sometimes do the same when I create larger pieces, with my size 8 synthetic squirrel rigger - it is so soft and floppy and perfect for making random marks

Hello Anastasia! I love your style of painting, I have two questions 1st do you only ever paint landscapes? 2nd do you always paint in this small format or in larger paper also? thank you in advance and all the best! 🙂
@AnastasiaMily
@AnastasiaMily Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I paint mostly landscapes but occasionally I paint animals and semi-abstract botanicals. I use both this size of paper and larger sizes when I paint not for the videos, but for my KZbin demonstrations I stick to smaller sizes as I takes me forever to finish the larger ones 😄
