I made the mistake of listening to this during class. I started crying and my teacher sent me to the guidance councilor. It took forever to explain why I was crying and that I was perfectly fine. They wound up calling my parents and making it a bigger issue than it was. Long story short, if you usually cry during this, don't listen to it in a crowded area!

It’s not “she felt like she did something wrong” she KNEW she did something wrong, Mayor Rose and Salem did a deal which made Mayor Rose wanting to accept it due to her being to over positive and think she will win, apparently she didn’t, she lost her voice, making her weaker day by day, and when you (the hero) got the promise conch back and she got her voice back, she had the heavy amount of guilt, knowing she’s already weak enough; she wanted to give the music spirit to Miles, because not only he can is capable to lead WaterSong to its glory to what it already is, she doesn’t want to hold the guilt of letting down her village, citizens, and her son, all for fame. @@Amsosorryscotty I’m glad that was stopped I understand she was doing this as a way of living up to her mistake but if the creator hadn’t stopped it Miles would’ve had to take over as mayor and he’s like 5 so he wouldn’t have been ready and the creator didn’t want miles to go through more or less what Mari went through (Mari was a teenager when she had to take over and frankly she wasn’t ready yet)

Thats nothing to worry about.... jast don't let the Moyer die yet. Ok bye. Ok those last few sentences where a joke. But the part where the creator says no to her die in frount of her son was true.

@@Amsosorryscotty I'm a few years late on this, but I think you misinterpreted the scene. The whole point is that Rose was making a sacrifice that didn't need to be made, and needed to be told so. She was doing the wrong thing - a thing she was tricked into doing that would ruin her son's life - and The Creator stepped in to make sure things were set to rights. the whole point is that she was admirable for being willing to throw her life away, but that she needed to be shown a better way to do things.

This is so powerful and beautiful omg 🤧 The way Rose looks happy and ready about her decision, but in contrast, her son (who's NINE years old mind you) looks sad and horrified because he knows that when this song ends, his mother will die (right in front of him), and the burden will go to him... For him, that song either lasted a lifetime or just a heartbeat, but either way it echos forever. And he'll always have a piece of his mother with him through the voice
