Victor Jory plays “the good man” very well. An inspiring movie.

Wowza. Victor Jory the leading man, shy with the ladies, fancy Dan rider, barroom brawler and white hat "good guy" implications! Beautiful ladies as co-stars AND both could act instead of emotion. Early days, although Jory didn't seem comfortable as a cowboy/good guy. I enjoyed his role, typical Zane Gray. Thanks for sharing this western. Remaster, clean soundtrack and it will be a gift to the viewing pu lic. Musical score by Victor Young also outstanding.
Victor Jory was a great actor, so was Noah Berry. Great movie, Thanks for sharing.

Having been a lifetime fan of Alan Ladd, I was delighted to see him in a relatively modest role in what must have been one of his first movies. Of course, "This gun for hire" rocketed him to world wide fame but everyone has to start somewhere. Still love him.

Victor Jory had a better acting technique than he was ever given credit for. It's one of the reasons he lasted so long in the business in character roles. He played a lot of Indians. (He was Injin Joe in Tom Sawyer.) I saw him in a play in Louisville, KY, at his son's theater when he was an old man. Workers there who I knew all mentioned to me what a nice man he was.

Musical score for this little 'oater' by the great Victor Young. I particularly loved his music (Call of the Faraway Hills) for the classic Western, Shane (1954). I’m old and my days are numbered so I can tell you the truth. Every woman had a figure. Everyone walked out in the evening strolling with their fiancé or with their GFs Or with their kids. And it was safe. Because I was born in 1901 I travelled a lot everyone in NYC. In LA in SFsico All the cities were safe and wonderful just to stroll IM VERY HAPPY TO be leaving soon this society now. I’ve returned to the only true Holy Catholic Church I hope I’ve made my peace with God Our city state and national governments are all corrupt. When we let them take God out of our courts and our schools. That was the beginning of the end!

Yeah, no toilet paper, air conditioning or deodorant. I hope that I am not that cynical when I am 118 years old.
@lookedgood84664 жыл бұрын
@@gordonjohnson8763 The thing is, you don't miss what you've never had. Also, they did have alternatives - toilet paper = cut up sheets of newspaper or water, which is actually cleaner. Air-Con = most houses had smaller windows to keep the heat out, and made had shade trees. Deodorant = baking soda and cornstarch dissolved in water, lemon juice, rubbing alcohol, and many others. What really was BAD about the "good old days" was disease, infections etc. A virus could come along and kill hundred thousand people. Oh wait, we still have that problem. Anyway, you get my point. I'm not saying I'd like to wind the clock back and live without the modern comforts, no way, but like I said, you don't miss what you have never had. . Update: There are a few things that I like from those days: Clothes that are made from cotton and wool etc., rather than a mix of those natural fiber materials and synthetic materials like polyester. Sure, you can still buy all natural clothing, but it can be hard to find and costs a lot more. Same goes for furniture. Made from all natural wood. No MDF and laminates etc., and it was built to last for generations, not like modern furniture that only lasts 20 or so years if you're lucky. Houses that were affordable to most people, and affordable on one wage and not two. Food - vegetable/fruit that wasn't full of pesticide and meat that wasn't full of growth hormones and other stuff. And don't get me started on genetically modified foods. Clean unpolluted air unless you lived in places like New York or old European cities. Admittedly, horse manure was a problem. Water that wasn't full of chemicals. Cheers

If I remember correctly the original story was set in Southern Arizona on either the Slaughter Ranch in Cochise County or the Buenos Aires/Santa Margarita Ranch in Pima County during the 1920's or 30's as was the sequel, Majesty's Rancho(book). The town described in both books sounds very much like Douglas AZ, a smelter and railroad town on the border in South Eastern AZ.

Watching their mother having casual sex with several BFs! Fear of dying will drive everyone that has no faith in God into slavery! I finished watching the movie, and enjoyed the good story. I particularly enjoyed the screen writing. I thought the dialogue was direct. The women had some strong and blunt lines. At first it was hard for me to figure what time line was the setting. It even had a border fence scene. As the story developed there were plenty of period references. Has a little bit of hollywood ending but I find that ok here. This is the first “Zane Grey” novel I’ve seen and I’m curious to see more. Mr. Grey seems to include a-lot of “period insights”
