Try using a chunk of leather. Pinch the wire between the leather and pull it through a few times.. That's how we straighten fly fishing leader line when its coiled up and has a bad memory!

Nice video. One thing you should consider for future videos is switching your camera to manual focus after you get it focused, seeing the lens try to focus every 2 seconds takes away from your great content. Awesome shot at the end! Love light painting with EL wire.
