that's a cargo locomotive train that took 11 years and $0.9 B to build?? In this day and age of maglev and electric trains? good grief...
@thegalaxyon6 жыл бұрын
James you get what you pay for plus when Nigeria build it's electric infrastructure it can easily replace the diesel locomotive with electric locomotive so don't worry.

Rubbish, the train is not even electrified. Nigerians should not be impressed by this less than mediocre system.
@im_aleey6 жыл бұрын
kago500 with which electricity do you expect them to run the rains?
@kago5006 жыл бұрын
I_M Ali The same electricity other cities with power issues use. Mumbai does not have 24 hour electricity yet it has an electric metro. How do they do it? By using a dedicated power generator specifically for the rail service so it works even if electricity isn't available in the surrounding area. Electric trains are faster, lighter, more efficient, easier to maintain and better for the environment, workers and passengers. The FCTA could have easily done this.
@im_aleey6 жыл бұрын
kago500 yes they could have, but this is a start the locomotive could easily be switched to an electric one at a later date if they construct the power lines and generator. Hopefully.
@kago5006 жыл бұрын
I_M Ali Hopefully they will. My point is that it should have been electric from the beginning, but I suppose this is still a welcome development.

Admiral Aladeen preach, that's the way they do sleep for years then start doing before election because it will be fresh in the people's mind. Analog mind must go make way for digital forward thinking. If the Nigerian masses vote for that old prick they should just stop going to school because we know they just wasting their time and not really thinking about their future

Admiral Aladen: You are fond of making useless criticism every time, that is a light railways and not a locomotive, you dont know what light rail means and what locomotive means.
@isaacadeniran89696 жыл бұрын
my brosther admiral maybe right at his criticm of the govt... i work in the railways environment too ... the locomotive is used to pull the trains or coaches.. why because the train itself was not meant to use electricity ... and without the locomotive the train cant move to anywhere.. well its a good start atleast we can start from one point it can get better in nearest future... another minus is the ticketing .. gosh... theyy ought to have installed ticketting machines at everystations... so that everybody wil;l not just be queueing to buy ticket before boarding the train

I am Chinese from Shanghai. We have our metro system 25 years ago in the city. Now we have 16 lines , one commuter rail and one maglev line, with total distance of 673km. All these routes are electrified lines. In my opinion, this locomotive and train are rubbish. I doubt why Chinese construction company and Nigeria government will choose such cheap “Option” to construct the city rail transit. I have experience on working in Chinese rail, and such poor locomotive in the tech that abandoned in 15 years ago in China. Omg, even compared to light rail in Ethiopia(also constructed by Chinese) this system is lag behind. Sorry for that “rude” and “direct” words, but I think we Chinese should sell at least “better” product and electrified commuter/ rail transit line instead of this shi**t.
