Greased it on! Wow. good flight, good situational awareness, you know your airplane. What's not to like! Good job. Keep 'em coming. Looks like the CJ is a good bird. We chatted about the marine influence around here. Well it's starting to feel fall like. Cooler mornings. SFO like, soon the furnace will come on in the morning. Bumpy ride coming back up the main road to Morro Bay from SLO in the strong onshore flow. While everyone puts their summer toys away, I'm still on the Goldwing running errands and occasional runs to local areas. Year around riding except I don't like to ride in the rain. SBP is very busy in the day time with lots of jet traffic departing just over us. Used to be the occasional turboprop. Those days are gone. Thanks for the ride.

It's finally starting to feel a little bit like fall on the east coast too. Temperatures here are in the 60's in the morning and mid 80's in the afternoon. I really enjoy this weather and hope it stays! It's great to hear from you again! The CJ3+ is an awesome airplane. So much is simplified and it really makes things easy on a 1 or 2 person crew!

@@AccidentalAviator I can remember how a busy cockpit is. Nice to have the help. Nice Garmin suite. That would have been wonderful in my old flying days. I would so love that invaluable tool. You know your war around the CJ3. Yes, it IS a nice bird. I will put in an order for a nice early fall but you know how that goes. Could be back ordered, ha ha. We are closely watching the northeast for the storm a brewin' there. New England area especially. Big blow possible. Fly safe.

Enjoyed the flight AC Aviator, I got interested in your channel because I'm actually from Wilmington but now residing in New Bern. I drive a tractor-trailer locally up here but my second career choice would have been flying either corporate or commercial. Unfortunately the only flying I get to do now is on a flight sim which I've gotten pretty good at it. At least I've been able to walk away from a crash without any pain, lol I appreciate you sharing your flights and the insight of all you have to monitor and do and your communication skills to the ATC on the ground. You don't lose them so much when you have a flight director, and at the very least we have to hand fly a lot of stuff during recurrent training. You definitely lose your scan on a traditional six-pack. I don't know whether that's from not doing it every day, or from mainly flying newer aircraft with the amazing avionics!

NICE landing, Wally. You can fly my right seat any time! Congratulations on 3k subscribers. Maybe at 12 months it'll be 30k. Interesting, the advancement in procedures and avionics. Back then, it was two VOR receivers and a Cessna 400 autopilot/flight director in the 402. Thirty years later in the CJ2+... WOW!! "I can't believe what these computers are doing for me!" Have you had a chance to read the book yet? As for what do we want to see? Just continue being yourself and doing what you do. What airplane do you have for your personal flying? @AccidentalAviator

That's kind of interesting. Most of the "systems" in the back are (mostly) hidden. A/C and Heating you just have ducts. Oxygen is hidden behind panels, and the potty in the CJ3+ has it's own seat/compartment, and it's only serviceable by removing a container. Maybe I can make a short video showing that stuff. Unfortunately I'm at the mercy of there actually being weather :-) When it's too bad, we generally don't fly, and we've had strange patterns of weather over the last year. It's either been really nice o really bad. Nothing in between. The only one I really have up with some weather is HOU -> ILM if you haven't seen that one. I'll certainly be bringing the cameras with me if there is any kind of bad weather or places that I'll be shooting approaches.

@AccidentalAviator
@AccidentalAviator Жыл бұрын
I'm generally there in January and July, so maybe we can make something work in January. Here's an interesting tidbit about the "leaking bleed air valve." It's been something we've been chasing on and off for the better part of 2 years now. While I was in Greensboro, one of the mechanics said he's seen that humming produced from the rain doors (which I don't use), and our copilot rain door was actually open a bit so they adjusted it. It seemed to make the humming a little bit better. However, when I was editing this video up last weekend, I caught (on the windshield camera) that when the humming is going on, the copilot windshield bleed air scoop was actually vibrating. You can see it on the video. I'm about to edit up a video and send it over to them. Hopefully we can get it fixed. It only happens at low(er) altitudes at high(er) speeds. So, 20,000 feet and 270kts was causing it. When we're up higher it goes away.

What does it mean when some pilots say “tap the brakes” right after takeoff?
@AccidentalAviator
@AccidentalAviator 6 ай бұрын
When the plane first gets off the ground, the wheels are spinning at the speed of rotation (around 110mph in this aircraft, and 80mph in small piston aircraft.) The reason for tapping the brakes would be to stop the wheels from spinning/vibrating. However, in the Citation I believe there's a system to prevent the brakes from being pushed while the aircraft is in the air. It's to prevent you from landing with the brakes on. Also, there's no way to stop the nose from spinning.

Are their synoptics pages like for icing to look at too in addition to looking out windows for actual ice? And to check on systems.
@AccidentalAviator
@AccidentalAviator Жыл бұрын
That's a good question. I think you're asking me if the avionics can notify me if I'm picking up icing. In the CJ3, the answer is no. I think the HondaJet has something that detects icing and automatically turns on the system. In the CJ3+ if it's 10 degrees and below Flight Safety teaches "turn everything on," but in practice everyone I've talked to turns on the Engine Heats first (which heats the leading edge of the pylons and the temperature probes), then if you see visible icing on the windshield or wings you turn everything on. At night there are red LEDs that shine on the windshield to help you detect ice buildup, and you have a wing light on the pilots side. Hopefully that answered your question!
@gregdildine99
@gregdildine99 Жыл бұрын
@@AccidentalAviator i guess I meant the synoptics display pages for systems like ice protection, fuel, hydraulics, etc. Although for ice that display is for the system itself and wouldn’t show ice accumulation directly. Do u ever look at those pages? I’m thinking they are available on the cj3+
