Should also try loading the RifleWolf with Heavy Rifles instead, unlike with autocannons the rifles have higher projectile speed and range as they get larger. Heavy rifles are much easier to use, in my opinion.

@@Chrinik True, but you could probably still fit a half dozen into a Dire Wolf with sufficient ammunition. A high-tier Heavy Rifle does a pretty hefty amount of damage so if you place them all into a chain fire group you can use them fairly efficiently.

I'd say do pickup the Hero Raven. While it would've been much more useful early to mid game, it's still a great 'mech for actual reconnaissance and being 35 tons with EWS countermeasures, it should still be survivable in higher difficulty missions due to being able to avoid detection. The Hero Victor, I'd say it's probably best to either go all LRMs or all ATMs. IMO one ATM 12 isn't enough and LRM 30 aren't enough LRMs. Either way good video Bara. 🙂

@@pekirt Yes, you wouldn't want the AI to pilot the Raven on higher difficulty missions. Although you could pilot the Raven to scout a location, then when you're done, switch 'mechs then tell the AI pilot to stay put or move to a location to scout a location again. The Hero Raven especially has some pretty good EWS so as long as the Raven isn't actively engaging targets, should be safe. The "proper" way to use the Raven is to scout at the beginning, then later into the mission, to take down damaged 'mechs with crit damage.

Never underestimate heavy machine gun arrays. I put 4x 4-heavy-machine-gun-clan into the dire wolf and 2 light gauss for range. The HMGs shredd!!!! The damage output is insane!

A quad clan light MG and a single clan light MG fit into the Battlemaster.. and with its MG bonus it can reach out to 1000M makes erasing enemy bases quite easy.. toss on a double bin of ammo though... it chews through it pretty fast.

My personal use modding puts rifle damage at 6 9 and 12, with slightly increased velocity and more normalized RoF making them more in line with gauss rifles. A heavy rifle hitting harder than a gauss rifle when on the tabletop it would do 6 damage to a mech compared to a gauss' 15 just didn't seem right, even to balance it. I also give them an extended range with damage falloff, to differentiate them from the explosive autocannon shells; Kinetic rounds that lose energy over distance. I don't want my light rifles acting like mini AC-20s, but rather kind of like the revolver of MW5. Decent power and range, dual-wieldable.

here's an idea for the direwolf build, keep the torso mounted light rifles, right arm set up as a penta plasma cannon (if tonnage allows) and left arm set up with an AC5 and 4 ERMLc, has the range you so desperately desire and keeps the mech cracking ability at close range.

You should check the armor on the latest Dire Wolf build. Not sure it got maxed. Yes on the RVN-H!! It's good for infiltration and good for recon missions. Supercharger, NSS armor, and clan partial wing system turns it into a spy plane

if you wanna do rifles.. do HEAVY rifles(Even better if tier 5)... a pair of them with a few other weapons as secondary's works wonders...i ended up with 6(maybe 8) tier 5's as rewards for cantina missions

2,4 million upkeep every 90 days is a lot, you should consider cold storage. Although the game says the weapons do not stay on the mech they will, due to a mod. You may get sure by checking the mod options. What you will lose are the upgrades, they do not stay on the mech in cold storage.

i only ever play vannilla, i hate mods they ruin the game by cheating, 2.4 million is a lot you say? I have a maintenance cost of 7.2 million every 90 days 26 pilots and 36 active mechs, and I still have too many c-bills, I think almost 2 billion c-bills, at the beginning I complained that the maintenance cost was too much but now it's little, trust me you can keep everything, but I guess I'm talking to someone who only plays mods so what problems can you have? just enter infinite c-bills

@@Infernus-II Using certain mods that add mechs and content and mission types to the game is not cheating. Also the difficulty of the game is raised by the same mods so you have to spend way more money for repairs and replacement. Sure you can install mods that make the game easier and I would consider this as cheating as well, but what you did here is accusing everybody using any mod to be a cheater and this is simply wrong. Have fun with your vanilla gameplay and let us have fun playing it with mods.

Only thing I can see is when change builds not doing the extra add ons what ever they are called for the builds you make for the bonuses......... And I haven't seen you change them yet the things you get from the cantina mission add ons. Which may help with your builds.

picking up the raven might be fun if you go to the lower tier planets but i dont think there is a place for it in end game ones. on my current play through i found the arrow and went to the outer planets and an doing 200 ton missions and its a lot of fun running lights and mediums. there is also a lot of cbills to be made doing multi missions, im at over 250 million you might not think its good for the video but there really isnt much of a difference if all the mechs are in the same class.

Plasma cannons focusing on heat put me off them. However... I made a Dire Wolf COMPLETELY covered in plasma rifles. Nothing but plasma rifles. It's disgusting. I have literally walked into an enemy base with something like 5 mechs against me at the same time, sprayed them all liberally with plasma and basically had three of them shut down at once and the other two in the process of being blown up. I am curious as to how a plasma cannon would compare. I certainly seem to be messing up enemies via overheating but I'm not sure if relying purely on overheat damage is a good idea.
