This video is from a session early this winter when I headed down to Hopes Nose with fellow lerfer Jon. We had an interesting days fishing using a variety of methods to catch a decent mixed bag for the time of year. At the end of our session, I also caught a species that I've been trying to catch for a long time now! I didn't get the footage on my Go Pro but did get a little clip of this cool little mini species on my phone just after I'd caught it :)
I used the below set ups for this session:
Rod: Major Craft N-One Kurodai NSL-782L
Reel: Daiwa Exceler 1500A
Rod: Major Craft Truzer TZS-T762L
Reel: Shimano Soare BB C2000PGSS
Thanks for watching!

How awesome to catch a leopard spotted goby, that's only the second time I've seen that on KZbin, that vid was a nice distraction from all the doom & gloom around at the moment, I love the chest mount angle when you're bending into those corkwings, you can see the action right through to your arm. Great work!!

I never tire of catching wrasse, beautiful fish and great fighters for their size. It is a great spot, gets very busy there at times though! Another quality vid! I’m in Kingsteignton but I’m not sure how far you can travel and it’s considered local? Devon and Cornwall police seem to be getting more proactive!
@DevonLerfer
@DevonLerfer 3 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate! Yeah its a difficult one isn't it? This session was before lockdown and as I live in mid Devon, I'm limited to fishing the short stretch of river in my town now. The canal is only 5 miles away but I feel even that might be pushing it. But its a tough call as the guidelines are so vague! Tight lines mate 👍🎣
@stevegleed5
@stevegleed5 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Stephen, people seem to be confusing guidelines for legislation, local travel guidelines are simply guidelines and there apparently seems no definition of local in the guidelines. if the police stop you tell them your going about your lawful business that’s all you have too say. Meantime do what you need to do to keep yourself and your family safe. Best time to go to Hopes nose is now before all the machine bashers start crapping the place up, you’ll still catch, got a few today😀

@DevonLerfer
@DevonLerfer 3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely mate, I've found the Teign to be a tough nut to crack on the LRF gear, especially in winter! Its typical that there looks to be a lot of fish activity on the coast at the moment and I can't get to them 🤣🎣

@DevonLerfer
@DevonLerfer 3 жыл бұрын
Hello mate, you're spoilt for choice in Brixham! The breakwater is the obvious one, I've spent many days working my way along there. The last third fishes best for me. Very snaggy though! The slipways in front of the car park at freshwater quarry are decent and can be productive, you'll still find plenty of mackerel at this time of year too! Thanks a lot mate, might bump into you some time down there once this lockdown hell is over! Good luck 👍🎣
