This is very informative and tutorial to me. I always fish fluke with tandem but majority of catch is under limit or sea robins and tangle up notoriously when I land them. This is the answer for this issue, keep the rig simple and move around to spot them. Thanks!!

Just a little tip u can inject that scent into the plastics instead of rubbing it on it it last alot longer for multiple fish.i use a turkey injector

Awesome flounder session! Reminded me of growing up in Jersey in the 80’s and 90’s fishing for them. I never tried scent on bucktails before. I’m guessing it made the difference?

Haha who knows if it made the difference but I do feel at times it helps the fish hold it a bit longer. Kinda the benefit of using real bait at times.

Hey Josh thanks for asking I had the surgery to prevent it from fully collapsing but I still do get the occasional spontaneous stabbing pain when I breath because those are small weak spots popping on the lung but then heal on there own.

Do you kayak guys ever get nervous wearing waders in the kayak? If that thing rolls I fear you would be going straight to the bottom.

I’ve kayaked in this model and type of kayak since I was 15-16 so I know it’s a very stable kayak and you have to really try to flip it to flip it. Unless your a big top heavy kinda guy which I am not. When I’m on bigger more intense waters like fishing off Montauk Point then I don’t wear waders of course. I also have two water tight belts on and I’ve practiced flipping the kayak over in a lake and then flipping it back over while swimming and climbing back in. It’s actually not that hard after a little practice and if you’ve got some upper body strength.

The stability was always one of my concerns. Still debating between a kayak and one of those plastic bass hunter boats with electric motor. Something I can slide in the back of my truck.
