Here’s a question I would like to ask anyone who sees this. This vehicle reminds me of basically off road pickups being used to support light infantry mobility. which I think we totally need. So would adding a fleet of more “overlanding” off road capability trucks and using them like light technicals help the light infantry with their mobility but add more firepower for them. I hope to hear from light inf troops on this. 😊

Electric vehicles are quiet and useful for covert insertion and to detect incoming drones but have limits in weight, range, and support. Hybrids offer a balance, though possibly less durability. Why choose a conventional engine?

Because a gas engine can be refilled with fuel constantly, if it were electric then they would have to stop and charge, plus batteries are heavy and when it’s falling from a helicopter the lighter the better.

@@charlesharrison7970 Your response indicates that you don't realise how hybrid engines work so I will explain the basics. Hybrids are powered by petrol and and pair a smaller battery with a smaller motor that can be designed to run at a constant speed to recharge the batteries efficiently to power the wheels electric motor(s). Conventional vehicles ramp their engines speed and power up and down as needed, but unfortunately this is less efficient, and therefore you get less range when compared to an equivalent hybrid powered engine of the same weight

1. Why would any soldier risk his life sitting in an open air vehicle? 2. Drones have capability of dropping grenades in vehicles, how is this vehicle any different from all we've seen be destroyed in combat in Ukraine. 3. Bullets and RPG travel faster then most land vehicles, how will this vehicle outrun any of those threats? 4. #1 killer on the battlefield is not direct fire but indirect fire ie shrapnel, open-air vehicle casualty rate would 100% if there is nothing protect soldiers from this threat.

Excellent vehicle for the modified role of the Canadian Army within NATO ,that being of fetch and carry , from what we have seen in Ukraine with the drone and its ever improving advancements this acquisition looks good in the fields of Gagetown or Valcartier , this vehicle does not give a fighting chance to our troops , no matter what the Mess Dinner Major propagandize .

Just buy some APCs from Roshel or something that can do the same thing but are more protected and can mount a gun... Plus they're made in Canada. What soldier in their right mind would ride an open dune buggy into a firefight? This thing cant even protect from the rain or a mosquito let alone a bullet or shell shrapnel. Absolutely disgraceful.
