If I remember right, after he lost to Gluto at Pound, Light said something like "I've figured it out and I'm never going to lose to him again." Looks like he really did figure it out!

No, he said he's figuring out how the top of the top plays around his playstile. That however doesn't just include Gluto, it's the same thing for Leo, which he also lost to. On another note, Light said something similar about that he figured out Gluto pre-covid (shortly before offline was dead), but when they came back from offline, he lost 3 times in a row (all in 2022), so take whatever Light says with a grain of salt.

Gluto and Light are like tide and wave. First Gluto won 3 Matches, now Light is returning the favor. Gluto said he will look back at this set because Light was just waaay to fast for him. There’s a little bit of vulnerability when you roll i think, so sometimes when it looks like it shield poked it was actually a roll or spot dodge being caught
