I agree with Peachy, the trailer should have been released two weeks before release instead of two minutes after.

The thing that really stuns me is that the preview we got and how we pictured the expansion is not how it ended up being. I might be solo in this but I expected something almost half as bad. I really like the expansion so far, but their marketing almost made it like it was nowhere near as good Also the animations on SPOILERS BIG BAD BOI are insane, the way he moves his extra limbs are awesome.

If you read the notes on the Fractals the Balthazar one concluded that the human gods are bad and should be kept out of Tyria forever.

@@miguelcondadoolivar5149 I've always seen the human gods as benevolent rather than good and the issue with benevolence is that it can be replaced by hostility under the right conditions. The kicker for that is the Parable of Lyssa in Siren's Landing which shows her deliberately lying as lying by omission is still lying even though it requires the listener to want to believe their interpretation and ask no follow-up questions. Then there's also the creation myth that the Crystal Desert happened because they fought and geographically it makes no sense. Tyria is a globe and what remains of what was the Crystal Sea is connected to The Endless Ocean, which would make Elona sit below sea level. If the gods had sheared away The Crystal Sea then the water levels would have evened out as water from The Endless Ocean would have rushed in to fill the vacuum. Taking this story at face value means that the gods during their battle would have sheared off five to ten meters of seawater globally for The Crystal Desert to have been created by burning away The Crystal Ocean. With this kind of power defeating the Elder Dragons would have been easy, yet they fled. There are also the intact bones of sea creatures in The Desert Highland that are virtually pristine after several hundred years of exposure to sand storms. The Dwarves also have no records of the seawater evaporating, and such an event would have been cataclysmic. There's also the soils to consider. The Crystal Sea due to being connected to The Endless Ocean would have been saltwater. Due to that the saline levels in the soil would have been high and few things can grow in high saline level soil, yet, things are easily growing in the Crystal Desert and it's quite lush in places that are on ground level. My hypothesis is that Lyssa gave everyone the knowledge that there was a Crystal Sea at some point and that it was totally real and then Dwayna planted some fish skeletons to prove this and messed up in the Desert Highlands since the people there just left them instead of removing them as expected, which is the reason we can see them now several centuries later. I've no doubt that the fight against Abbadon inflicted a lot of damage to the area and nothing in the cataclysmic terms that myth would entail. The only thing that makes sense to me is that the gods hyped this up to keep people in line, "Look what happens when we have to fight each other, stop it!" And as such cooked up a scenario so devastating that people would have no other option. It's similar to how the nuclear bomb was sold to be such a cataclysmic weapon that no one would wage war out of fear of the nukes being used. There's also Balthazar's defeat. He never died he just stopped existing. He was weakened enough that Kralkatorrik could absorb the energy that was Balthazar. This further implies that the form of humans that the gods took was a deliberate move to get their followers to empathise more with them. The gods never left Tyria because the battle would be horrendous, they left because they wanted to continue existing, which would explain the extremely corny, "the power was inside you all along," reason Kormir gave since it was never really an explanation of anything, and now that the Elder Dragons are gone they might come back to claim their prize. I do believe that Kormir was lied to since she was formerly a human and thus would be more likely to side with humanity since their troubles and worries were once real to her. Never forget that these are gods who happily participated in three exercises of colonialism to establish humanity and by extension themselves. The majority race in Cantha used to be Tengu. Both the Charr and Centaurs were chased out of their native regions because humans wanted that space. I've no doubt that they would be willing to use violence to reclaim what they see as theirs by manifest destiny.

I want to enjoy it, the story I like but so many bugs, too many bugs and just vague things or weirdly implemented things that feel kind of baffling for no reason. It's been rough for me. My first day I couldn't figure out what relic to pick because they said nothing, missed weapon mastery, had 2 events that I attempted twice each, both bugged both times and couldn't be finished and couldn't complete dailies because I got the bugged dungeon in Echovald. I want to like it but you want to talk about a crushing disappointment of a first impression.
