When it comes to fashion, I get asked at least two times a day. I will miss the social aspect of it generally but I think people are over reacting about it. If it bothers them so much, there's not much they can do from getting their look "stolen" anyway, lol, like Rook said, people will just take a picture of it. The option to turn it off would be nice however! Especially for things like fashion contests in the game.

I don't understand people gate keeping "fashion". People who are determined to know what you're wearing will research it in the wiki anyway. Either that or take a screenshot of your toon and ask about it in FB pages/discord/reddit. I personally love this new feature because this is just basic MMO feature. Some MMO even lets you inspect EVERYTHING (stats). Players complaining about this feature are just too neurotic and conceited.

Things I like about GW2 and would like to see in GW3, the same, or modified and improved. The original Dungeons (IMO) were a good idea with the story mode to introduce them to players, and the 3 explore-able paths that new players couldn't open until they had tried the story mode version. I just wish they had kept them maintained and bug free, while also adding more Dungeons to the game, instead of Fractals with Agony Resistance. Raids instead of Strike Missions - The full on Raids were better thought out and implemented, and the only two improvements I would suggest for them are a tier system (like Fractals), so all levels of player skill can enjoy them, and to continue to add more new Raids every year and with every expansion. More fully thought out story chapters, with no short cuts and dropped story lines because of changed priorities from management. More story content, at more frequent intervals, and each new story release to have sufficient content to take more than just an hour or two to complete. Rework, or remove some of the complexity of the combat system, so the game can be balanced more easily for competitive players, and new maps for both PvP and WvW areas on a regular schedule. New game engine that could reduce, or eliminate loading screen wait times between maps, and increase the maximum allowed number of players for each map. Those are my top requests for GW3, but I can easily think of many more if I took more time to think about it. I suggest that all GW2 players express what they want, because just maybe Anet is watching and listening to what the players want.

Isn't GW2 one of NCSoft's best income producing games? Even though GW2 isn't really huge compared to FFXIV, or WoW, it does have significant numbers still playing the game and buying expansions. I don't know enough about what other games are published by NCSoft, so maybe I'm wrong about GW2 being their biggest income producer.

Human and Charr are a must! The Norn need there transformations to be part of their skill animations or removed, sylvari are lost with the dragons, and the asura should be an npc only situation. Replaced with new demon race, tengu, and dwarf. But ideally more than 5, especially if in the future there are more to represent factions or teams of races.

If the original Guild Wars was so great, why didn't it dethrone WoW? I'm not saying it was a bad game, but the developers decided that it wasn't good enough to continue down that path, so they created something different (GW2). Anet might decide to do the same thing to GW2, by creating something very different and new again, but original ideas aren't that easy to come up with, and I'm betting that they will borrow heavily on everything they have learned over the past twenty years, as well as what they have learned from other games, both the good parts that should be copied, and the bad parts that should be avoided. My question is this; does Anet have the resources to create a completely new game, or would they be better off transferring as many GW2 assets to a new modern game engine, to use as a starting point, and fix, or reinvent what didn't work in GW2. That seems like the smartest approach to use, for a studio with limited development resources.

@@davidmorris2234 I mean, I agree with you, sure. In the end I obviously can only say what I think, and what I think is that gw1 was superior in many ways to WoW. I'm not arguing it was objectively better, but having played both I enjoyed gw1 a lot more.

It feels good to know that there are some comrades/lefties around the gaming scene. Need more people in the scene to talk about this kind of stuff. Also because often gaming people maintain somekind of anti-politics behaviour that at some points get's really toxic. To really get the games we dream of we need to overcome capitalism and it's focus in profit rather than whats inside. Think about mods.. so many good and innovative ideas happen when people do something they WANT to play without the need to make a profit. It also proves it's not true only competition will get you innovative ideas. In reality the best Things happen when ppl start to cooperate ;)

The two fingers as an insult go all the way back to the wars between France and England. The French would cut off the right index and middle finger of English archers who were captured so they could no longer use a bow. The English longbowmen started using it as an insult against the French to show that they still had their fingers.

I ADORED the main story but y'all are right the other half isn't working, I think the main expansion should wrap up most of the plot and the last little episodes to wrap out all the little other plotline, it would feel better and with these much smaller-shorter episodes not have MAJOR other story beats. Nayos is GORGEOUS and the demons are sooo cool but theres nothing of substance, like one of those fake wedding cakes

What's missing about Eparch is that the story has in no way presented the malignant narcissism that drives him. Look at Eparch, his design shows that he has tried to copy Isgarren in his own way. The form he has is one based on that Isgarren has assumed in recent times to make people think at first glance that he's a Djinn. Eparch looking similar to that is a visual sign that he has been spying on Isgarren and is trying to be a better Isgarren than Isgarren. Think of Trump being obsessed with past presidents of the USA like Washington and Lincoln and expressing that he's better than them. That's Eparch's relationship to Isgarren. What has gone wrong is that the amputated format is horribad at giving the players any sort of foreshadowing that this is the case. I can just hope that there'll be some collection in the third part that goes into this aspect. ANet has also failed by giving him seemingly redeemable traits. Someone who has a malignant narcissism in their personality commonly has none and only rarely has a few.
@nielsjensen4185
@nielsjensen4185 Ай бұрын
I think a better pacing would be to extend the story across two expansions so, you get a major drop of the story and then three smaller drips. Then you get another major drop and three drips to finish it. I think that would give a better pacing since this seems rushed and the narrative structure is absent from the last two drips. In the major drop, we had a Darkest Hour where things seemed really bad before we had our Moment of Triumph. In this half we have had no Darkest Hour, we've just gone from Moment of Triumph to Moment of Triumph. This means that the last Moment of Triumph we'll have in the last release will feel shallow and unearned. I feel like I'm reading a David Edding novel where the heroes just go from victory to victory and the villains are just basically no threat at all. A David Edding novel minus the humour, because that part is on point in his nocels.

I fucking hate Hell Sister since she has a lot of instant attacks with no telegraph that hit. And Rook is incorrect. The only reason the Soo-Won, or anything in EoD, could be challenging was due to the Jade Protocols. One of the basics of encounter design is that you never include anything in the encounter that the players are unable to deal with, even if they have to go and get the thing they need to clear the encounter. Due to the insane addition that having Boons has to DPS ANet can only make an encounter that has a high DPS requirement if it's guaranteed people can have those Boons. Go and do Gyala Delve with a full premade, do it two times. The first time with no organisation at all, just the typical blob, and the second time you have organisation and everyone has Jade Protocols with a two-hour duration before the meta starts. The difference in time it takes is insane. The reason they need Jade Protocols is that the Boons from those also affect the Siege Turtle when you take damage and when everyone hits harder and moves faster the Tunnel is tolerable. It's the same with Convergences. My fastest private Convergence was about 15 minutes with an average of 17 minutes because of proper organisation. For public, my fastest was 18 minutes and my average is about 26 minutes. You all might be able to notice a slight difference in time spent there.

Serious visual fix though. Straighten out the hand ion the female model as they hold whatever is in that hand slightly tilted, which looks really stupid if it's a focus or a pistol. Then next fix the female Human and Sylvari model so that the feet and the knees point in the same direction. Third, for some weird reason, the right shoulder on female Sylvari is often too thin and clips. You can really see it with the Magitech shoulders that look fine on Scarlet and clips on normal female Sylvari.

Btw, spoiler suggestion for your next Lightbringers. Spoiler . . . . . . . . . . Take a picture of Isgarren and compare it to a picture of Eparch. Then look at his castle in the distance and as Boots said, the silhouette is extremely similar to that of the Tower itself. Remember the timeline. Isgarren assumed his some time to look more like a Djinn form after he yeeted Eparch. Isgarren lives rent-free in Eparch's head while Isgarren just wants Eparch to go away :p

Jebro you brought up a very interesting point about the alt universe where GW2 is a subscription game. If GW2 is a subscription game, it's probably going to be the top MMO in the market. Creativity truly shines when you have limited resources and that what ANET have been dealing with for a long time. EOD is the perfect example of that. If they have WoW and FF14 budget, they would blow those two games off the roof. Also, Its always fun to listen to Fornax just be unhinged.
