I Need help i burned a word on a cutting board that is misspelled. I need to correct the file in lightburn for later use and i cannot do it. O am using 1.3.01 HELP Please asap!

I normally create my cutting in Visual CADD and export as PDF to LightBurn. Can I then using the text options in LB and add labels and such to be engraved to the PDF file? Thanks

Hi Jay, glad you found us. While I have not used Lightburn myself in this way, you should not have any issue importing a PDF and using the text feature to add text to your layout. You could even re-export the finished design, text and all as a PDF for archiving! What do you design in Visual CADD?

Hey I have a question on doing text say on letter O I want to keep the center but cut out the rest is there a quick way to edit this like to bridge and keep the center of letters on cutting in lightburn or like letter B and so on thanks

Hi there, I have a photo and I want to put words on the background of the photo to leave it white so when I engrave it the words pop out. Pretty much I don't want to engrave the words so it would remain as negative space. How do I do that in lightburn? Is so much easier in coreldraw but I don't use that program now. Thanks if you have any solutions.

Hello friend need your help, I’m new to laser machine. due to my work recently required to mark some text on a work surface. It’s a small text of 1.5mm tall text. I bought a ATOMSTICK X7PRO. And installed and tested but don’t know how to make text engrave to the work space by Lightburn. Appreciate you would help me and tech me how to engrave text. It’s a first time I own and use this machine. Thank you very much in advance. Lawrence

As someone new to laser engraving this was not at all helpful. You taught me what the preferences were but not how to combine, resize, and manipulate text along side images and shapes.

I love your videos but on this it took me a while to find PREFRENCES, it actually under EDIT, SETTINGS. You may want to slow down a bit when dropping down menus. Thanks

Why does my text burn backwards

You are dragging you text when you grab the corner slider... to the left or right. You can turn it back the right way by going in the opposite direction. Hope that helps👍

Hi Barry, Lightburn uses the fonts installed in your OS system. So you don't need to load new ones directly, except for the SHX fonts as the operating system doesn't use them. If your interested in how to do that, I go through where and how to add SHX fonts in the tutorial. What are you planing to create now that you have dived deeper into texts and fonts in Lightburn?

I am having trouble with the size of fonts when I use the rotary tool but not on flat engraving . Can you advice me what to do . I drew a 2 x 2 square and the measurements are way off too .

Does the red behind the font on preview does that mean that will be engraved ? Will that red be engraved also ? I’m trying to engrave words solid on the design the letters are outlined and I want them filled in and engrave on a shape but cut the shape out if that makes sense . . Heeellppp lol

The red in your preview window is the traversal move of your laser across the material. If you don't want to see it in your preview, click the slider beside the "Show traversal move" in your preview window and it will disappear.
