Not sure if it was mentioned already, but as a fellow glasses wearer.. it's tremendously disabling having a broken pair of glasses, and sometimes a tiny philips head is all that's needed to set things, and is probably overlooked in most survival packs.

If you smoke a pipe, the Phillips head screwdriver would make a good pipe tool.

Interesting tool. For the pipe and cigar smokers out there, the little phillips could be used as a pipe pick, and the sissors and knife could be used for clipping the end of a cigar??? Just thought I would add that in. :)

Having gone to college in the early '70s, I might call this a perfect, ahem, "pipe" tool, "bro": Stem cutter/hash shaver/bowl scraper, bud trimmer, pipe reamer, bowl igniter, and, of course, accompanying beverage opener. Social change fosters entrepreneurs. For those in certain states today, I think this will sell well with a certain "green" set, for a whole different type of "bush" craft. Not that it won't see other uses, too. Sounds like decent S/S construction, so hopefully it will hold up in the long run.

Agreed. It is a great concept to connect lighter and slim multi-tool, yet make them easy to separate. I just imagine the original brainstorming of the inventors, though, lol. "Bro! Got a cool idea!"

If they guys at lighter bro read these comments I'd like to see a version that has a cover for the top of the lighter. Looks like there is a keychain ring but i would be worried about it activating the gas if I put it in my pocket then it would be empty when you might need it. Does the lighter fit in with the top down if you want to protect it?

I have been carrying Bic lighters for years in my pockets, when I was a smoker and now just in case. I don't recall ever having any problems. So, in any case, this is not any worse than a plain Bic in that regard.

Michael Saull You can get one at a gas station or a dollar store, they come with a rope lanyard on to it, just pop it off. and slap the lighter gripper over the top. It waterproofs your lighter. If that's what you're looking for. I've never accidentally activated a Bic, but I have gotten one wet.

Very impressive! Edit: My biggest worry about it is trying to unscrew a screw that's really tight. Can't help but worry that putting too much torque on that flat blade could cause it to deform, or cause the joint to weaken. Best kept for screws that aren't too tight, I figure. I bet it'd be dandy for removing grips from a pistol!

This seems really neat. I don't smoke or have any need for a lighter other than just having it in my kits for whatever use. So this, for me, wouldn't be really useful. BUT, for those that do carry bic's around, DEFINITELY could be useful!

I don't smoke either. I do carry a mini -Bic in my pocket just in case. And I have full size Bics in ALL my different kits and packs. What I like about this is I can snap a Bic in it, throw it in a kit and have a couple of extra surprisingly functional tools for backup.

The only real benefit to that over my Micra is that it reduces how many items I have to remember to grab before I go out. Which, in my case, is actually a pretty big benefit haha.

Do the boy scouts of today teach snares, notches for pot hanging, and different stuff like that? I am 54, but can remember making tables, a-frame cooking set ups and stuff that incorporated a lot of knife work. I , for one, would like to see how some of these knives do on some of those chores. Curls and bat toning is nice but we use our blades for alot more around ,"base camp". Just an idea and request

In my opinion, it's just another gimmick, cutesy product that is unnecessary. Although I do believe in the carry of BIC lighters and or Zippo's, do yourself a favor and carry a quality Multi-tool!

i use to smoke and used e cigs to stop, i still carry a bic and have 1 in each of my coats and vehicles. as a ex smoker and having a lighter on me nearly 100%of the time i know how important it can be. not just lighting cigs but ive fallen into creeks before in the winter and have used lighters to build fires to warm me up. one time it was really bad where i had to basically get nude and use fire to dry my clothes. that was many years ago when the only thing there was to do on when i wasn't in school was hike the mountain build damns make swimming holes and so on.

If I didn't carry a Zippo, instead of a Bic, I would get one of these and take my little SAK off of my key chain. I was a bic dude only for many years despite owning a few Zippos but Bic lighters seem to disappear on me and I also don't like throwing all that plastic in the landfill, because I smoke. (which incidentally also pollutes) SO I started to EDC a Zippo again and change flints instead of pitching the whole lighter 3000 lights later. Bics are in my fire kits though. I mean if you need to build more than 3000 fires, I mean well you're in a bad bad spot. Like Robinson Crusoe or something.

Bic lighters are not as good as french made djeep lighters which are very rugged..they arebuilt like a battleship with lots of fluid.

You would never get a Brit or Irish person pick a Bic over a Clipper but you Americans swear by them. I smoked (heavily) for many years and Clippers last 2/3 times longer, are more reliable and light better in the wind, you can replace the gas (it doesn't leak either) and flint very easily but each unto their own eh??

Apparently they are not nearly as popular here in the US. Well, at least it seems as if they are only really popular with folks who use them to light "Alternative smoking materials". I ordered some to check out.
