I’m a fool for tritium tubes and everyone should sleep with one on their wrist or put one on the night stand next to their bed so they can see what tritium tubes look like when their eyes are adjusted to the dark , no glow in the dark paint can compare!!

Last month I bought a Citizen Promaster five watch in Titanium for the price you paid for the one in the video. The Citizen has the best lime in the business. No battery needed ever. The titanium doesn’t scratch due to their proprietary coating. Accuracy is fantastic. The milled titanium clasp is as goodas any watch made. The build quality is second to none. You should try doing a review on a Citizen.

It does scratch. Just more scratch proof than normal ti without coating but ti is softer than steel so kinda cancels out imo. My ti citizen does have scratches. Only tungsen and ceramic cases l can say is scratch proof. Citizen does has good lume with the promaster series but seiko lumibrite divers will give it a good run for the money.

I have a very similar watch with T100 tritium tubes, that is made by Carnival. Mine is a black PVD with black face and is a field watch. I can attest to the accuracy of the Rhonda mvmnt and the brightness of the markers and hands at night. I leave it on my nightstand and use it for camping because it is so clearly legible and bright even in total darkness. Very useful for those purposes. I do not wear it for either dress or even daytime casual, but I would not part with it because of it's unique feature at night. If I were to order a Massdrop, I feel that the blue would be a good compromise for day and night time wear.

If you know anything about EDC the first rule is much like being covert - blend in understated thats what this watch does in spades unlike most Armourlites which are typically beefy having had one. I like it but I'm with you numbers needed to be much bigger and I would have bitten. Great Job!

I love quartz!! Do you think the reason the watch and the clock revolutionized navigation, industry, the rail roads, and standardized time zones was due to the a desire to have gears and springs?? I guess it depends on the perspective. For example, I would not spend more than $300 on a quartz, given that you can have a very similar accuracy for less than $100 (unless, of course, it has some specific features like tools you need to have your job/hobby/sport done). On the other hand, I would not spend more than $1,000 on a mechanical watch, given that for me it would be unnecessary luxury for something less accurate than a $100 watch (unless I want to risk as an investment on a Rolex). But there is something implicit in your comment that I agree with: Underestimating quartz because of the mechanical romance is not fair.

NOOO, don't encourage them to add any stupid branding to the face of this near perfect watch! No sloppy words/ useless crap for me to look at 100 times a day! The clean-face is the main reason I am buying this watch (blue face, blue band). The cleaner the face, the easier it is to read time without putting my (stupid) glasses on. It seems they are, I hope, purposefully keeping the face clean & elegant, just like the only other watch I want right now, the beautifully simple, streamlined & clean-faced/zero stupid branding Maratac Pilot. Hi Jodi.Just purchased a starking . But guess where I got it from Amazon. This way I did not have to wait 3 to 4 weeks to get it I got it in two days. What a great deal 40$. Keeping great time. At plus 5 seconds per day . It is actually keeping better time then my three and $400 Swiss watches kind of funny LOL. I want to thank you for finding these great deals because otherwise I would have never known about them. The one I got was the white and gold with the brown strap I thought the strap would be rubbish at that price but is actually kind of a nice one I think it has some kind of rubber backing because it’s very soft and it feels like rubber. Well OK keep finding these great deals I really appreciate it and have a blessed day.

I recently traded a few of my Seiko watches which increased in value since I bought them in on a Ball, and I can say that I really do like having tritium illumination. That being said, I'm not sure I'd buy this particular model.

Good find, JOMW! Very interesting watch. I like the concept, and agree with your analysis - larger numerals for sure. The logo is more visible to my olde eyes on the darker dials. I like it! Price seems fair, too. Seems like a good choice for a Monday thru Friday watch, eh? I may wait for the version 2 to come out, though. I am wondering if the Tritium tubes end up limiting the style of the watch. As you said - "The dial could do with a little bit more character." Couldn't we all?

How about a "top tritium watch under $100 review"? I picked up one and though its only 15 T25 tubes, it is plenty bright for its purpose. Swiss quartz day and date function with 24 hr markings.

Good stuff.If it comforts you I keep a very bright led flashlamp next to the bed to charge my lume during the night Think about it,why don't I just use it to look at the watch??? Well it wakes my wife up and she simply does not get it at all.The best l can tell her is that I have a dodgey switch on said torch and it takes several minutes to go off?She usually asks me after its gone out "Why are you awake and staring and your watch darling"? I usually reply saying " I just need to check what time I will need another pee darling?" Silence ensues thereafter usually.

You say it's the brightest Tritium watch. I have a Nite Alpha T100 and the illumination on that is green. As the human eye detects green better than any other colour, I'd say that would be 'brighter'. MB Microtec make the gas tubes and several watch manufacturers use them, so I can't see how one watch brand can claim to make the brightest Tritium watch.

T100 being the brightest is likely a limitation put on by the USA. T100 is the most tritium allowed into the USA by the NRC (nuclear regulatory commission). I don’t know whether or not brighter tubes would be possible, but they would not be allowed into the USA. Sadly, we seem to be happy to try to force our rules on the rest of the world (JMTC). Nice review of a pretty cool watch!

T100 doesn't glow any brighter than T25. T100 watches are just allowed to have more tritium tubes in them than T25 watches. Flat tube tritium watches are the best as far as tritium goes. Simply because the tubes are wider thus making them easier to see. Deep Blue makes a really nice flat tube tritium watch for around $200. Not too heavy and very comfortable. And it's an automatic movement.

a T25 tritium watch has a half time of 10 years a T100 is 4 times brighter so doesn't that mean it will have a half time of only 2,5 years? why else would tracer (the maker of tritium tubes) only use T25 in their own watches

No, there is not different "isotopes" or types of tritium with varying activity. Tritium is always same isotope of hydrogen with one proton and two neutrons. In T100 there is just 4x more tritium than in T25. And half time of tritium is ~12,5 years.
