Ehhh ... We didn't press those headset cups in back in the warm summer nights of the 80's. We banged em in with a hammer and piece of wood. It was usually around dusk we worked on our bikes tho. Daytime consisted of sleeping or the pool.

Hey Barry 2 questions. 1: I wanna put carbon rims on my 2018 citizen (just like yours) but I keep hearing casing jumps isn't good for them. I also hear they're really strong. If I case jumps every now and then will they be fine? 2: I bought my citizen from someone at my track who didn't take really good care of it, so there are a few light scratches, can I just get the same color paint and fix them?

Idk what the full weight is yet but my next freestyle build will be lighter than many race bikes. Ti frame forks bars and cranks. Free coaster. Gyro. Fat 2.3 front tire. Pegs. 14.22-14.77 pounds before accounting for a bunch of titanium upgrades. And other weight savings methods. No holes drilled.

I’m enjoying the bike so far kzbin.infoUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.

Thanks for all the videos! Watched this video at least 10 times now. Lol I have the citizen frame I’m in the process of getting parts together. Crank question! How important are the high end cranks?
@barrynobles953 жыл бұрын
High end is always nice but usually your just paying for lighter weight and higher quality. A basic 2-3 piece crank that would come on a complete bike would be fine for awhile to get started. Always good to upgrade over time tho as you progress You should never be running a 1 piece crank tho
@RedSp4de3 жыл бұрын
@@barrynobles95 yes no 1 piece cranks lol I actually do have a blackout with the generic 2 piece on there(not the cliqs unfortunately) I’m thinking do I really want to break them down or just start fresh with a high end crankset. Hey 4ME2DRV! Same height and weight as you. I started looking at the Haro Annex and like what I see. How’s it working out for you so far? Was originally looking at the 20” Annex for my 11-year-old son but would love the same bike for myself 🙂 I imagine I should go with the 24” version though but haven’t seen all the sizing options yet. It’s worth noting that I’m getting a little older like this guy said in the video… so, it’d be nice to sit down a little more often than when I was younger, especially when I’m just cruising around the neighborhood with my kid… not when I go to the park though. There’s a nice park and a pretty nice bmx/dirt jump track where we live here in Austin that I used to ride a lot but haven’t in a while. I’d love to get my kid into it. I know he’d have a great time and really enjoy it! Anyhow, any advice you could give based on your experience with the Annex would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hey Barry I had a serious question about Gear Ratios! So I am 11 and I ride 165 cranks with a 42 tooth sprocket and a 16 in the back but It feels like the cranks are a little big so I think I should switch to 160 cranks with a 44 tooth sprocket and same in the back but my dad told me that you get more Leverage with the big cranks but I would have more pedal clearence with the Small cranks What do you think I should do!!!!!!
@ajpbmx72133 жыл бұрын
Clearance isn't that much of an issue so don't change it. Plus it's only 5mm and you may think that 160mm is too short when you get them

@ajpbmx72133 жыл бұрын
@@leo134-t8l If you think your legs are extending too much then go to 160s. When you go to a shorter crank length you would need to decrease the roll-out of the gearing and not increase. I would keep the 42t in the front if you are going to 160s. Remember longer crank = bigger gear, shorter crank = smaller gear. I am 6 foot on the spot and running 180s. I was on 175s last season then switched to 180s a month ago and I got a lot faster.
