I would have made the same decision, the laser’s didn’t seem to have just enough spread for me, another great review mate really enjoy your work

bought a set of the 9" driving lights a couple of years ago for my paj and the old boys Landcruiser, we love them, heaps of light, solid as fuck brackets, price hard to beat, worth a look

After watching your Video, I would have made the same conclusion.. I prefer the Driving lights.. I also would prefer more spread.. But it would seem most light manufactures are only making lights for highways where people want distance and limited spread.. In Off Road situations, I feel that No Light Manufacture is offering adequate spread.. 👍

Thanks Pete, I thought I was getting too picky in my old age. I've always accepted that I should run a light bar for spread but I'd love a driving light that did it all. Like you said, I'm not sure it exists. Can't have your cake and eat it too I guess.

I run rounds for spots it directs the light best which i like in a spot and a smaller lightbar for spread beam as it throws wider and floods
@DENMONKEY7 ай бұрын
I think that's the best set up

I thought you were going to start making out with the Laser lights 😂 I've been running the King's 9" for a long time and still really happy with them. Good review 👍

Yeah I was giving them a good rub there for a little bit. I really did love the look of them. Almost as much as I like looking at other things that come in pairs. But not quite as much.

Crazy Dave would be drooling over those 2 sets on your bullbar lmfao, so would the cops but I know it's just for demo purpose. Early in the video but I love the look of those laser ones but spread is good, that's why I love my 42 inch light bar. Having the option rings on the others is nice, make them stand out from the norm a little. Those Running Lights look sick too. Those lasers look the business but I'm with you, the normal 9 inch lights would be more usable I think. Both are sexy though and Vic Offroad I would be glad to have my Pajero wearing a set.

Despite not being a fan of the laser beam pattern, I was still surprised how hard it was to make a decision on the end. Those lasers are fair dinkum artwork when it comes to their looks.

@DENMONKEY yeah they both look brilliant for sure. Given I have the 42 inch light bar on the roof to throw spread the lasers would probably be fine for me.

I know if it was me I would be handing over the lasers and keeping the traditional LED set, personally feel that all the light manufacturers need to provide flood lenses/filters until they can get that wider beam pattern right, but alas they all seem to be focused on the distance and light intensity. Down here the roos and deer are so thick you need just as much light spread to the front quarters as the road ahead without washing out the detail with masses of white oversaturated light, also the light needs to be brought to round 5700k top reduce eye strain, I have the Stedi 7" LED's with a flood filter on one and a yellow on the other, gives a good warm light with reasonable spread but they still don't give enough light out to the sides. I am yet to find a set of LED lights that do as well as the old focusable Lightforce HID's, I tried the Auxbeam side shooter lightbar and it was dismal at best, I'll give them their dues they refunded the price after being contacted & sent pics of the leaking lens and poor performance but all in all it just didn't cut the mustard so to speak.

Hey Graeme, This cheapy eBay ones I had came with lens covers to give a spread pattern. I'm not inclined to run covers generally but they did work pretty well. Both sets of these lights are 5700k. I should have mentioned that in the video. So they're more easy on the eye compared to the cooler temp lights. I drive an hour to work up some country roads wild life is a real issue, which is why spread is a big issue for me too. It's not the roo 1000m on the road that runs out on you. Thus my hunt for that light bar continues.

Great vid but have you yet been able to compair your new driving lights with Stedi ones?
@DENMONKEY6 ай бұрын
Not yet but I have a couple of work mates who are on the stedi wagon. I hope to get them side by side for some testing. I'll post up if it happens.

Thanks Brett As im upgrading my kings 9inch as they have that stupid ball in the center and its a pain in the butt when I have them on.
@ironfan9988 ай бұрын
In all honesty the 9 inch led driving lights and maybe some flood ditch lights would be preferable i think. Maybe the morimoto ones? I hear theyre pretty darn bright.
@DENMONKEY7 ай бұрын
I've considered some little 7 inch bar lights but I'm not sure they'd work on my bill bar without blocking my main lights. I could go ditch lights on the bonnet. I'm still running that set on the commodore in the same spot.

@DENMONKEY hey that works

I'm looking at the Altiq Quad V3 Driving lights with hybrid Flood and Spot. Less distance with greater spread. Just no decent reviews.

The lights are fine the brackets are thin and shack around on rough ground
