Late 1997. My first son was just born, but diagnosed with congenital heart disease. At the time they said he was unlikely to make it. I was driving home alone from the hospital and this song came on. I had to pull over cos I couldn't see the road ahead - eyes full of tears. To this day, if I hear this song, there is a big chance I will bawl like a baby (happened at a supermarket two years ago!!!) - but it helped give me hope - It's probably meant to be a love song, but to me this song is about a father and his son. My son survived five operations and will be 23 this year.

I am a french woman, when I first heard this song, i was a child and so I couldn’t understand the lyrics and the meaning at all. Many years later, I craved for it but didn’t know how to find a song when you don’t have any clue about what to search for, but just the melody. I searched randomly for years when magic happens one day. Missed this tune so much and the memory I have of that age I was living back then. Good song and incredible voice.

@@Red_Bull_Fan1985 of course now that I can understand the lyrics, it was nothing at all compared to what I thought back then. It is somewhat depressing yet uplifting at the same time, and everybody could relate to those lyrics at one point or another in their life. I think this is a really good tune, and I do love the singer’s voice so much, it is deep yet calming. And btw thank you for you compliment, I try my best to improve my english but still I have to learn a lot.

I used to hate Lighthouse Family in the 90's... they were ubiquitous, every shop you went in, bloody Lighthouse Family was on. Radio stations never learned that overplaying just makes you hate an artist. Now I haven't heard them at all in the last 20 years, I suddenly got an urge to listen to them 🤣 Funny how it works isn't it? I never even knew they were just two guys.

This song should be listed as one of the best pop songs of all time. It’s so well-made from the lyrics to the melody. When you listen to it, the whole song just penetrates from your ears to your heart and to the rest of your body sending magical impulses along the way. It then envelopes you in a natural high filled with warmth, nostalgia, and euphoria. It’s so rare to achieve this feeling through sound. It’s an auditory masterpiece.

I had sepsis, just 25 years old, a new baby in my arms, they left the placenta in me after a botched c-section, it all got hushed up of course, I recall holding my baby Jess in my arms one afternoon, looking into her eyes in the side ward as the strength seeped from inside, so weak, shaking and burning up inside, bearly able to hold my little girl, this song starting playing outside in the corridor radio and like a message had come from afar, I felt every melodic change and word resonate within me, tears fell and I felt something inside kick in and even though I was hours from my organs shutting down, to me an angel had come by and i starting fighting back and I strived to survive for my beautiful baby who needed me, now she is 21 and this is our song. Love and family is everything and this song our inspiration...sometimes my daughter says I heard our song today Mum and I smile into those beautiful blue eyes and we just know, I love you Jessie Lou 'cos we are gonna be, forever you and me!'....❤ xxxx

This song played so much back on the radio during the late 2000s and early 2010s. I never hear this song anymore, yet I still remember it vividly. Such a shame so many new songs can never reach the same memorability and catchiness that this one can.

When i first heard this song , i fell in love with it and it was one of my favorites . When my Mom heard it , she would always ask me to play it when she's in her rocking chair ... I could see her delight when she hears it , tapping her fingers and her feet. She passed on few months later ....and when i hear this song nowadays , i wouldn't only listen to it intently but i will always remember my Mom , because she's there up HIGH in heaven ..... Listening to it :).....
