My dad used to play this song every day when I was a little girl...it was his favorite song to sing and I loved it when he would because I could tell it made him really happy. I recently found out that this too was my mom's favorite song...it was their song. I didn't know this because my mom died when I was 3. I realized now that my dad loved it so much because it reminded him of her. Sadly, my dad also ended up passing away when I was 11 and I now listen to this song to remind me of him... To anyone who read to the end of this, cherish the ones you love. You never know when your last moment together will be

Thanks guys. :) that's probably my favorite thing about music....closest thing to a time machine. I think it's interesting how she actually got married young-19 to a man in the military (only her 2nd serious bf), was a step mother to his daughter whom she adored, and traveled a little, then moved to Japan with him and lived there for a while, didnt finish college, they came back and bought a house and were thinking of having a baby soon then she got the news she was stage 4 so she couldn't have a baby, unfortunately. Had she waited like I did to do all those things (i graduated at 23, married at 28, baby at 29, bought house at 30) she'd have spent 4 years studying for a degree she'd use for 2 years tops before she died, never get to experience her wedding or experience it much later and not have as much time together and never knew what it was like to be married living with a man you love. I think in some way her soul must have known she didn't have long. Because I remember thinking why is she in such a hurry to do all these things because we weren't even on the downhill side of 20 yet. Now I thank god she didnt wait to experience those milestones or she'd have never got to do them.

Well, I'll be darned! I've always thought of this with a certain sexual connotation, but after reading your comment I re-listened to it, and other than the one single line ("I'll be your dream, I'll be your wish, I'll be your fantasy"), every line of the song other than that one equally applies to a new mother and her child! Thank you, I'll never think of this song quite the same way, especially since one of my dreams is to stand on Mt. Kilamanjaro with my child one day!

It's funny how you're profile pic is of the Croatian flag and there's a Croatian animated film called Lapitch the Little Shoemaker which came out the same year as this song (1997) I haven't seen the movie but from looking at pictures of it I somehow associate the song with that movie and I often associate animated films with songs that were popular around the same time as their release

I feel so empty of emotion these days, unable to connect with anyone, detached from people around me, words people use to comfort me don’t do a thing I’m numb to them, in a way I’m already dead inside but here I am writing this, I love this song, it doesn’t remind me of anyone I want but it reminds me of a time where I was happy.

Do you have kids? If you don't then save all your money and leave for a while. Go on a holiday and save your money as much as possible. Go for months if you can afford. You're stuck in an unhealthy mindset and you need to do something before it's to late. Alternatives are: 1. Find a new sport/hobby where you meet new people. You can't expect to pull yourself out of your own misery. You need people to interact with. But if you chose a hobby make sure it's something like hiking, mushroom picking, skydiving, hunting etc etc. Something where you're pulled away from your normal environment. 2. Get some proffesional help. You need to talk to someone who can challenge your state of mind in a healthy way and also help you in the right direction. The fact is that you need to do something about it. Life is fucking brutally beautiful in equal sense of the words. You need to find meaning where sometimes it can all seem pointless. If you don't I can promise you one thing. Life will go on without you and you'll miss out. You don't deserve that, so go out there and do something about it. You deserve to be satisfied and content ❤ But it takes hard work. All the best, I'll pray for you.

This song just brings me back to a time I remember so vividly as a kid. I was 6 Titanic was a world phenomenon and Leo Mania was in full affect and this song was all over the radio. With BackStreet boys and 90s club music. No cell phones. People had one computer in their house there wasn’t all these distractions of today, the new millennium was approaching. Everyone was excited for what the future may hold. People still had individuality to them. I had so much more hope for where we’d be by now as a society. What a let down lol. This song will forever bring that time back into mind and the blind optimism of being a kid. And it’s a great song!

Im born in 2008 and listening to savage garden. To be honest,in my opinion olden music is way better than the new generations music. Why? Old songs have way much more meaning while the new generations music has less meaning but, that does not mean i hate newer music.I like some new music...like composers like Ed Sheeran.Im in love with his songs.see what i did there? ;)

Truly one of the great pop music love songs. It was released in the UK just as my relationship with the love of my life began. We sang along together many times back in 1998, and whenever the song came on the radio afterwards. And of course the song was the obvious, natural choice for my dear darling's funeral, when she passed away a few months ago.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Sounds like you and the love of your life had something so beautiful that only so people can hope for. I hope you find that same love again. The love she left with you will never truly be gone instead it will be born in to new love.

Lyrics I'll be your dream, I'll be your wish, I'll be your fantasy I'll be your hope, I'll be your love, be everything that you need I love you more with every breath truly, madly, deeply do I will be strong, I will be faithful 'cause I'm counting on A new beginnin' A reason for livin' A deeper meaning, yeah I wanna stand with you on a mountain I wanna bathe with you in the sea I wanna lay like this forever Until the sky falls down on me And when the stars are shining brightly in the velvet sky I'll make a wish, send it to heaven and make you want to cry The tears of joy for all the pleasure and the certainty That we're surrounded by the comfort and protection Of the highest powers In lonely hours The tears devour you An' I wanna stand with you on a mountain I wanna bathe with you in the sea I wanna lay like this forever Until the sky falls down on me Oh, can you see it, baby? You don't have to close your eyes It's standin' right before you All that you need will surely come Ooh, yeah I'll be your dream, I'll be your wish, I'll be your fantasy I'll be your hope, I'll be your love, be everything that you need I'll love you more with every breath truly, madly, deeply do I wanna stand with you on a mountain I wanna bathe with you in the sea I wanna lay like this forever Until the sky falls down on me I wanna stand with you on a mountain I wanna bathe with you in the sea I want to live like this forever Until the sky falls down on me
