Love that flying Fish effect kit & added to the list, Kit 2 not the worst I’ve seen or tried. Kit 3 was nice as well. The best thing with ball shell kits is the ability & price. However you have a 50/50 chance that they are real ball shells or fake 🔥🔥

I can often times tell if they are real by touching them, or how they look…BUT, sometimes I get tricked 😂🤦🏼‍♂️

Though I'm more of a fan of cakes, than cans/balls, I would give the "win" to the flying fish kit simply because it was different. To be honest, the other 2 kits were rather pedestrian for an enthusiast. But all 3 would please people in a typical family backyard fireworks shooting on the 4th. I have to remind myself that's really the targeted consumer for at least the last 2 kits, and they would deliver for them. I would prefer stationary/separate camera man.

Neon Night is one of the first ball shells I ever shot! Though I must say that I liked the fish kit the best, it's just such a cool effect. As for your camera work, I think as long as you can catch the breaks well it doesn't matter so much if I see you lighting the fuse or not. I pretty much always have someone else holding the camera when I'm lighting fuses. More than once, I've accidentally turned the video off while running back and missed the whole firework!😂

I have stopped recording by mistake after lighting a couple times 🤦🏼‍♂️ I think all 6 of those FF shells going up at once, with some comets or meteors would look pretty nice!

The crackling effect isn't a spider, it's a crackling coconut palm, the fish and neon shells were the best.

Your breakdown of the different shell effects was really enlightening. Have you considered experimenting with different launch heights to see how it affects the visual display of the shells?

Appreciate it!! 👊🏽 I haven’t messed around with different heights. That would be achieved by either using a shorter or longer mortar tube, or adding/removing BP from the lift.

I’m going to try using fast fuse in a canister shell to see if that has the same effect as flying fish fuse.

I bet the 2-3 second/ft fuse that Phantom sells would be really good speed! I’m sure it would work pretty well, just burns orange. There is a Willow Diadem fuse that is very pretty when used in a shell as welll 👍🏼

I will when I bring my wife along! There have been several videos my dad lights them….but he has a hard time moving fast enough d/t bad knees.
