can a lantern be used inside a cabin after bieng lit outside.?.....in a emergency/

+Joe Silva CF lanterns tend to make some stink so you might not want to burn them inside. I've got one 200A that burns pretty smell free but those tend to be the worst from a stink perspective. Kerosene lanterns tend to be less stinky but it really depends on the specific lantern...

Its at least very common. Can probably be mitigated somewhat by tightening the joints in the top end. Check out my 200a video for more info.

i run some models inside my cabin no co alarms yeat so yes if the lantern does not smell. they also heat the cabin some thats a bonus and here in norway it gets realy cold in winter :-)

I just got one of these. What do you recommend using to polish the tank. Some corrosion but no pits. The only numbers that I can find are an 8 and a 4 spaced about 1/4 inch apart.

In the old days they only did 2 digit dates which requires you to have an idea when the lantern was made. I forget which ones are year month but I *think* on a slant it means April 1928. I could be wrong though. I use mostly Mothers Mag Wheel polish on nickel. Use it with a cloth, not paper towel. Coleman nickel is pretty robust, some of the other brands its really thin. Either way there is some risk of over polishing and showing the brass underneath. I'm too chicken to use a mechanical polisher.

There are lots of factors that go into how bright a lantern is but the two main ones are fuel and air. Make sure the generator tip is clean and make sure the air tube is clear.

That is a beautiful Slant! Its fall which is in my eyes, perfect lantern weather and time to burn CF and Kero! I need to get back to fettling with more GPA's!
