Forgot to show where the second shield is. It’s called Kite Shield and you can get it from the Nomadic merchant in Liurnia if the Lakes. And for swords I would honestly use a Bastard sword or the Broadsword if you don’t like great swords because of the range of both weapons. Some straight swords have little range and it’s annoying.

I like that this is a true early game build. A lot of so called “early game” builds on KZbin require you to skip ahead to later game areas like Altus plateau. I hate that because it’s skipping a lot of content that ruins the intended progression of the game.

thanks for this true "early game" build that doesnt involve skipping ahead into altus plateau or volcano manor or mount gemir etc or using glitches like wrong warp to get to somewhere ur not supposed to be, its refreshing to see something that can be used early and built upon by someone like myself who is not a soulsborne whatsoever and has 51 yrs of gaming under my thumbs so the reactions are woefully subpar at best lol

If you are going to liurnia of the lakes anyway… grab the two fingers talisman (purified ruins) to add 5 points to faith. You can increase your faith for more damage or stay at 24 and increase another stat of your choosing. Helpful for the big points spread in this build. As well radagons scarseal is available early game (weeping peninsula) if you are willing to trade some defence for a boost to vigor, endurance, strength and dex. Which will free up quite a few points to put into faith. Thanks for the item locations!

*I see this is 10 months old. Just thought this adds variety as late Game gets holy more resistance* Unless this is strictly holy damage. Should pickup bloodflane blade(scales from faith) in liurnia, and get the bloodhound fang sword. Fir whatever reason you can use incant on that particular weapon...

Im gunna say what's already been said, i really like that this is actually early game! You didn't say something like "take this teleporter to caelid and try not to die" or some shit, its all veru accessible!

Love this build, I main with it, but no shield and I use a scythe and the finger seal exclusively. Sacred Blade as a counter and I have a rotation of lighting lance, lightening strike, and the single lightning strike incantation. It's super effective in water! Great vid!

@@ThatSoulsGirl it's pretty good actually, but I prefer the reaper scythe only because it has a bleed stat proc which goes nicely with the Sacred Blade. Get pvp invaders backing up so I can create space to chuck a lightening lance lol

Dude that lightning knight is no joke. I kinda gave up last night after about 10 attempts. I'm getting better at his patterns and starting out with Sacred Blade already buffed on my mace, then doing a backstab, following up with a strong takes a good chunk of his health, but after that his poise is too strong for me to break reliably without getting combo'd

Yeah he's really tough. You want to guard counter him as much as possible and jump heavy to get him to break stance.

Lol I literally kited him for 20 minutes on horse back. What I did was charge at him from behind on horse back... smacked him and ran out of his on the top of the hill range until he wasn't aggro'ed and turned to walk back down the hill. Got popped a few times. I also used a great sword to do this. A flail may work as well.

It's alright, there's actually a golden vow incantation so you can stack that on top of sacred blade for ever more damage.

Normally I wouldn't try to use a guide for just building a character, but in DS1, I tried to make a paladin without prior knowledge, so I didn't know where to get sunlight weapon or any lightning spears. This meant that at the end of the playthrough, I was pretty much just a warrior with a divine weapon and some heals.

Yeah! that's basically what I use guides for a well, helps get you started or just to give you ideas since there's so much you can do in this game with builds.

If you start with the stonesword keys keepsake you can open the first fog gate in the seal graveyard and get the erdtree favor talisman which increase health stamina and equipload for a better starting option

This is the build I'm using basically! I didn't get the lightning ability though so I'm going to go get that, I think it will help a lot! There i s also and ability that's really good that only requires faith called Flame of Frenzy. I'm at the mid-game and am wondering about maybe trying some different weapons - possibly ones that inflict bleed or naturally scale with faith. So far I have just been going with the Noble's slender sword and sacred blade and it's been working well enough so I don't want to break that, haha. It's tough though because I don't know how all these other weapons feel and they all have different stat requirements. Anyway great video!

Flame of frenzy is definitely a good one! Finding weapons that scale with faith alone is pretty hard. I think there is one early scythe that I know of and an end game dagger. A lot of the swords I found uses both faith and intellect so that’s a bummer 😭

I chose confessor! But prophet or even Vagabond would work. Though with Vagabon you'd have to buy the finger seal for incantations.

There's a couple of late game options for faith scaling straight swords. Golden epitaph, miquellan knight's sword, and the coded sword, they all look cool which is what matters On my first playthrough I went in fully blind so I missed a lot, the incantation vendor is dead and I can't get these spells anymore, I'm not sure if I want to start NG+ or make a new character :(

​@@ThatSoulsGirl i mean it xD souls games are designed in a way that no matter how good you think you are, they will make sure that you will fall for every trap that they have the first time, the only thing that helps you in those situations is more vigor, doesnt matter how much damage you deal, if you get blown up by some fire bomb into barrel combo, if you dont have enough vigor to survive the hit your just dead. just think of Stormveil Castle, the perfect example xD or radahns arrows at the start of the fight, almost everyone ive seen doesnt have enough hp to take 2 arrows, so they just instantly die at the start of the fight.

I started a new toon yesterday, with the though of using the brass shield and two of the warpicks the guys in the first ruins drop for grins. Literally an hour of farming and I didn't get one pick or shield lol.

Try using fowl picked silver foot to help with the drops, I got mine after a good 20min.

I figured I'd leave it up to you but you want to get a two handed sword like a Bastard sword or a Claymore. You can get them both in the Weeping Peninsula, one from a vendor near the site of grace! Or just any two-handed weapon you really like.
