It uses DXR, so it needs a GPU which supports hardware accelerated ray tracing.

I get tons of crashes with GPU lightmass using an RTX 2080ti, tried updating all of my drivers but still crashes constantly. is there a way to use GPU lightmass without RTX features as well?

I have the RTX2070 Super and it crashes a lot when I edit any material. The solution was changing to Directx11, but still I haven't tried the bake that way.

It's just faster light baking, so I don't think the target platform matters.

you will have to use CPU based raytracing. You should be able to get the same results, but will be slower baking on cpu. Just use the traditional build lightmass settings

No, there will be alot of games made with baked lightings for more fps Lumen is 50 fps when a baked scene is 120+fps with my rtx3070 gpu

@@LivingTheDream77 wrong, your words are groundless. On static images, baked lighting will always be better than Lumen. The only downside are screen space reflections, lumen reflections are a lot better.

Yes. But if you still want to optmize your project, the baked lighting system with static lights will be aways the better option in performance.
