Lightleap is so mean she's AMAZING! (Warrior Cats)

Before the next Warrior Cats book released, I wanted to be sure I talked about my favorite cat from A Starless Clan so far, and how her being nasty actually adds to her appeal.

I really love the drama in this book between Sunbeam and Lightleap, it's just so refreshing to see Warrior Cats take a more realistic and simple approach to character drama that we haven't seen in a while. There's no border clashes, boring journeys or ghost shenanigans.. it's just a grounded, nuanced story about two friends, one friend slowly becoming more and more toxic, and the other trying to fix the rift beween them, whilst becoming more and more detached from her clan in the process. It just feels way more interesting to read about with there being no massive, grand stakes.

Granted it is not unlike Graystripe and Fireheart in Fire & Ice but that’s part of the best written arc and I think traits of that great writing is returning, and is shown on the similar plot point here

Sunbeam literally went from a background character to a fan favorite lol I think Lightleap’s a fairly interesting character so far, also “best jerk” is the funniest thing I’ve seen all morning and I agree with it, my sense of humor is probably broken 💀

Having Lightleap around means that though she's not a full antagonist she is a shecat who is pretty antagonistic. We need more antagonistic shecats in the books since most of the antagonists are toms. Would anyone agree that these books need more female antagonists?

Honestly, yeah. We do need more female antagonists in the warriors series. I mean Sleekwhisker had some interesting bits while she lasted.. but that impact was mainly influenced by a male antagonist.. so I'm not really sure it counts.

For sure. The only antagonist she cats I can think of are Mapleshade, Sleekwhisker, and maybe Berryheart which has been implied. I suppose frecklewish maybe counts because she is a dark forest cat, but she wasn’t a main antagonist really, only in mapleshade’s vengeance.

Lightleap is my favorite of the TigerDove kits. She's just SO mean that she's cool!! She's an underrated Tigerstar clone (and the only female one!!!) She's one of the reasons I like Sunbeam's chapters. She's my second favorite POV (after frostpaw) and lightleap is just really cool and a big part of why I like sunbeam. Probably the only reason she's not my favorite is because she's so much like Bristlefrost. But i do like her a lot!! Also I think it would be hilarious if Blazefire got together with lightleap

I wonder if Lightleap becomes a Villian who becomes so annoyed at Sunbeam that she tries to kill her in secret and silver-tongue her way out of it and potentially pin the blame on another cat of the clan for the murder perferably Blazefire, To where he is Exiled from the clan and Lightleap reigns on top, taking out two former love birds with one stone cold tongue of hers.

I'm loving sunbeam and lightleaps dynamic! she's sarcastic and mean. she's totally my favorite character from River at least, but I'm still hoping that Sky and the next books have better character development on more minor characters.

I wondered why I love Sunbeam so much, even though her chapters weren't anything GRIPPING like Frostpaw's were. Nor were they dramatic like Nightheart's. But it hit me the other day when I was on a Yu-Gi-Oh marathon. She's the cat version of Yugi. Think about it. She like Yugi is a genuine good person who would bat for people who don't even bat for her. I can see her and Lightleap actually making up and becoming friends, because this whole thing reminds me of how Joey and Yugi became friends; Joey once bullied Yugi like how Lightleap does to Sunbeam, but after Yugi sticks up for Joey, from ANOTHER bully the two become close friends. I can DEFINITELY see that happening here, and I think Sunbeam's mom might be the catalyst for that event to happen, where Sunbeam will stick up for her friend, and Lightleap will in turn realize she was in the wrong and over time be friends. At least I hope that's how it works; I really like Lightleap, and I can see her coming around, but I just don't want it out of nowhere either. I can actually see Blazefire, Lightleap and Sunbeam being a good trio of friends.

I love all the protags tbh. Sunbeam is great because of all the reasons mentioned in this video. Frostpaw is dealing with so much and is just a baby I love her and want her to be safe and happy. Meanwhile Nightheart is such a hotheaded whiny butt that I can’t help but wonder where his story is going. But I beg of the Erin’s to please, PLEASE do not pair Nightheart and Sunbeam together.

Since my english is not pure gold, i cant buy the books from the newer arc (nor the books that are placed after the first arc. tought, i'l test my english with Firestar's quest), and because i would break the timeline of the books in seconds, so yeah I did only read the first three chapters of River, and my opinion on Lightleap is that she's a jerk, like you said. But instead, i didnt liked her.
