I think I know what best describes what I think "Every child deserves a parent, not every parent deserves a child." that is a saying for a reason, no matter how much you love and cherish a child, that means nothing when you abuse and neglect and let others abuse and neglect them as well, there is absolutely no excuse for such behavior and mistreatment. I've heard and seen so many single parents do better than this. this is abuse, point blank, no discussion. how anyone can think this is not, must not be right in the head or is a child themselves, as the point stands this is wrong and there's no way that it's not, there are no excuses or reasons behind such behavior and even if there were somehow that still doesn't change the effects this can and will have, and don't anyone dare to forget every child deserves a parent not every parent deserves a child. this must stop!

I'm convinced that the Spike fandom is about using Spike as a self-insertion. I mean, it explains all the objections to Spike Abuse in the first place, doesn't it?
@yaaaaasfire96214 жыл бұрын
Man I feel conflicted with this since the mlp finished Mostly because the later seasons don't really match with the past seasons. Most of the past seasons really is just him getting ignored, neglected or hurt and there to be a assistant. But then he's starting to get alot more important roles, he gives bits advice, listens, contributes and makes his own big splashes and seen as a friend and family.

You know, Spike's character development backfired. The crux of the problem with Spike - and Spike episodes - is that everyone else needs to be dragged down if you want him to shine at all. And Equestria Games, Gauntlet of Fire, and Times They Were a Changeling are three notable examples.

Yes thank for pointing out that Spike isn’t a baby dragon he is simple a young dragon and I hate that every pony including his friends thinking he’s a baby. Do ponies not remember that dragons can live as long as Celestia and Luna.

I completly agree, "Twilight being Twilight" is no where near a good explination! Seriously! Before I go on a rant, Try checking out Celestia or Fluttershy. I think that'll make for a good arguement.
@mcthor60516 жыл бұрын
I don't think Twilight should have been trusted with Spike in the first place. She's, like, five when she hatches him for school. Who would trust a baby with a schoolgirl? Shouldn't he have been raised by Celestia or an actual dragon?
@trexadvent47263 жыл бұрын
The only thing I don't understand why did Celestia give Spike to Twilight Sparkle instead of returning him to the Dragon Land after he hatched from his egg. Where did she even find Spike as an egg so that it could explain who Spike's parents are and why they never came back for him?

@@thecoolmanstation What's that supposed to mean? If the writers were all about making the Mane 6 look good then they could have saved themselves all the trouble by not including Spike into the MLP FIM Show. The excuse of Twilight being in the zone , (get it?) Busy studying or doing a bunch of excessive stuff she doesn't need to really isn't an excuse. She's a mom, she needs to make time for her baby. Also, that off-camera apology thing is also kind of a weak excuse. If you were going based off of only canonical properties, you couldn't really say that. She can't just constantly ignore him like that, he deserves to be treated with respect and care, too. Plus, that whole thing about "well, he should be used to the neglect by now" I'm sorry, but, he shouldn't HAVE to be used to neglect. I apologize if I sound rude.

The entire Spike-fandom is all about fans living scenarios vicariously by imagining themselves in Spike's place. Of course, "Spike Abuse" was nothing but an obstacle in their fantasies. No wonder why fans of Spike would be so concerned about him taking all the beating or being a simple background decoration since Season 1 in the first place. For what other reason would they be, otherwise?
@epicfights78982 жыл бұрын
Is that why ppl felt equally bad at the injuries Twilight took in Feeling Pinkie Keen? Bro the actual explanation is that it's just uncomfortable for some of us to watch, no matter who it is, because *they didn't deserve it.* We're more annoyed because the writers think its okay/its funny, and we're confused because they could have done things any other way than this... The whole "Spike fans project themselves" is literally a common go-to conclusion for some of yall and its not even just the Spike fandom, ppl used that explanation for alot of fans ppl dislike, such as Vegeta's. So no, its not just one conclusion you think is the likely culprit, its just that "constant slapstick because funny" feels narrow-minded and it feels like its controlling on what ppl should accept.

Spike abuse makes no sense, every other character in the show is abused and made into a joke constantly including the villains, that being said ive seen you make this argument on derpibooru and its funny cause Spike only gets better as the series goes on where as every other character gets worse. Hell Spike was treated better in the movie then both Aj and Shy

@@MILDMONSTER1234 if you're replying to me, Ive never commented on derpibooru. But I admit I was emotional and in the moment when I made that comment. Looking back, I think a bit of the fandom made me feel more emotionally negative with somethings as time passed. I know Spike definitely wasn't the only one who ever got the slapstick, I just felt bothered because he was the one who definitely got hit with it the most out of anyone. And to make things worse, my 1st season I ever saw of FiM was season4, it made me feel soo bad and felt like they just had a grand bias against him for whatever reason. I love the dude, I understood completely that a kid has his mess ups and didn't hate Spike at your Service or Princess Spike as much as most fans did, I just felt the intuition that the subtle way the show talks about his "role" and his constant use as a "humdrum/comic relief" was this "bias" my gut was telling me about. Dude didn't deserve any of it and if there was just some more writers that actually cared to do more with him/think more highly of him, if they where there to write his role/use in the show, things would've been much different and better for him. I agree, he wasn't "abused". In my opinion, he was in the control of ppl who didn't think highly of him and thus decided not to put effort or think much else for him. To me it was self-fulfilling prophecy. Eh fine, it wasn't all that bad, but hoonestly he could've been given much much more. But I concede, I'm just being emotional. Show's over, eventually we move on.

@@epicfights7898 That being said I think overall season 4 is a very weak season and frankly I have no idea why people think so highly of it, Spikes treatment is just a by product of its lackluster quality and if it makes you feel any better just remember that the only reason midnight sparkle didnt kill everyone was because of spike, that the only reason dragons and changelings are on good terms with ponies is partly cause of spike, and that he arguably got more character development then AJ in the end

That was a nice video and I liked the way you defended both sides of your theory. Unfortunately, I think Spike is used by the writers as a comic relief most of the time, which causes for him to be "abused" often. Despite him being a baby dragon, we shouldn't compare him with babies of human kind and more like a teenager (in maturity). Keep up the good work guys.

When Twilight Flipped out on Spike, in the process launching their whole home in the air suggests just because he expressed his honest opinion makes me think she probably beats him especially considering she's always calling him a 12 year old adolescent in season 1 continuing even after he turns 13 in season 2 is disrespectful verbal abuse I've only seen surpassed by Ripley's verbal abuse of her her cat friend Jones in aliens, what with her greeting him by calling him stupid in the beginning and later calling him a shithead.
