I NEVER understood the intense hate many critics had for this movie when it first came out - they didn't just bag it, they went out of their way to tear it down at every oppurtunity. Like they had something to prove. If you don't like something, that's fine. But you really don't have to froth at the mouth about it. IMO, it's a very funny movie that is well worth watching. Paul Hogan basically redoes Croc Dundee for a Western, and does a good job. Cuba Gooding is great as his partner - easy to see that part being just stupid or annoying if done by certain other actors, but Mr Gooding handles the part brilliantly.

i never agree on what critics say. they are just other people's opinions, and we all know opinions are like a-holes everybody has one. i find that what critics like i don't and what they hate i like. critics hated Led Zepplen, Sabbath, AC/DC when they came out. critics always try to look sofisticated and cultured so they usually look down on comedys. they are paid to watch movies where we pay to watch movies. i bet if i met a critic they would be the type of person i could never be friends with. i liked this movie , it was funny and lighthearted just the way i like them. some people just can't enjoy a movie cause they are to wrapped up in picking up flaws and overthinking things. to them i just say 'it's a movie relax and just enjoy the ride'. if you want something realistic just take a walk outside and enjoy all the drama this world has to offer.

7thsealord I never understood why the film got slammed...okay, it will never be compared to The Shawshank Redemption, but then, it’s just a fun adventure comedy, and a damn funny one, and the chemistry between Hogan and Gooding Jr is superb...Cuba is fantastic without saying a single line of dialogue

I don't know if Paul Hogan considered this. His Lightning Jack character could had been the great grandfather of Crocodile Dundee.
I'VE SEEN THIS MOVIE Before AND PAUL HOGAN IS IN THIS MOVIE AND IT'S A GREAT COUNTRY AND WESTERN MOVIE AND PAUL HOGAN WAS A BANK ROBBER IN THIS MOVIE AND HE WAS IN A TV SHOW CALLED THE PAUL HOGAN SHOW AND HE WAS AN AUSTRALIAN ACTOR AND DELVIN DELANEY WAS IN THIS TV SHOW AND A MAN WHO'S NAME is STROP IS IN THIS TV SHOW AND PAUL HOGAN WAS A SYDNEY HARBOUR BRIDGE WORKER 😁
