I worked on this film as a PA. When they crossed the river the crane operator dipped the 250k camera in the water. It was then I asked Paul if he needed anything, Tea, A great, honest guy. He waited on the bank in the 110 deg heat while the crew dissembled, cleaned and dried the the camera, he had a air conditioned trailer but would rather watch the Colorado river flow by. Did not meet Cuba.

This movie has one of the funniest scenes ever filmed, IMO. When the mute Ben Doyle shoots himself in the foot and starts hopping around in pain, but can't scream is pure slapstick hilarious fun. I literally choked, and spewed Coca-Cola out of my nose!!! Soon, the whole household was howling in laughter 🤣! Needless to say, but I will anyway, this entire movie was a gas.

I was a teenager when this movie came out. It was a sort of western revival era. Maverick, Tombstone, Wyatt Earp, Unforgiven were all part of that revival. Tombstone was definitely the coup de grace but Maverick and Lightning Jack hold a very special place in my heart. It was a great time for me and these movies are an important part of those memories. CUBA Gooding Jr SHOULD Have WON AN ACADEMY AWARD FOR his acting in this movie

Some people get a role and they fold under the pressure. Cuba Gooding Jr., is one damn good actor. His performance in Boyz in the Hood was freaking unbelievable or should I say believable to his role in Jerry Mcquire, his has impressed a lot of people, but unfortunately not the right people. This role right here, he really does make you think he can't talk. There is a movie that he has done that I believe rivals all of his other roles. The Hit List. A lot of people I've talked to say they didn't even know that this movie existed, but it does and it's Cuba's top 3 movies he's ever done. I tell you another he did an awesome job in and that's the movie Gladiator, he plays a boxer named Abraham Lincoln Haines. It's good to read that there are other people that can see what a damn great actor he is. If you haven't seen the movie The Hit List, I highly recommend it for you. Take care and peace out.

Never get tired of westerns when they show the country, in this case the slanting layers of sedimentary rock in the hills in the background fascinate me. At 14:40, the hills are in the background, they were formed millennia ago when the ocean covered the land. Old history mixing with the new. God works wonders.
