LIGHTNING Lobster Mission!!! (SCARY) Catch/Clean/Cook

In this episode we head out for the first day of "mini lobster season". It's part of the 2 day sport season in late July before the main season opens up in August. The weather is horrendous with bad storms and lightning, but it doesn't stop us from catching our limit of lobster before the days end! Back at home we cook a whole lobster on the grill plus some tails in the oven.

I was out there that day too. We limited out in a couple hours but got impaled by that storm on a Beavertail Mosquito. After that storm, I bought myself a Barker 26. That squall was no joke man. Everyone that got hammered by that were running for shelter in there larger CC’s and looking at me like I was crazy in my flats skiff. Anything for a lobster!

Appreciate the content and am subscribed...although this one seemed a bit out of character taking that risk with the storm. Lightning doesnt discriminate between the "experienced" and "inexperienced" and injury/fatality from direct and indirect strikes are a lot more common than the average person realizes. Safe fishing!

Great video Stanzfam! A very large day of lobster catching. Nobody who does not live on the water should never talk about the dangers. Those who know…know. Otherwise shut up. I live in water storms in Atlantic Canada, we know when is when. I’m glad you FINALLY USED a whole lobster. Well….1. What happened to the bodies and knuckles of the rest. Stop wasting meat. Thanks for watching! Brooks net did great. It is a much different shape than what I’m used to using, but I really believe they couldn’t see it coming since it was clear. I had the net in one hand and the go pro in the other, so was a little tricky grabbing them in the net after I caught them since i had the camera. The whole lobster definitely gets us a lot more meat, just a little more work

In Pensacola for the blue angels we went and watched them in our boat and it's a 18ft well craft and it was glass slick at first then it started storming and it was blowing about 30 to 35 knots and the waves were about 7ft and we had a 20 mile run back to the boat ramp going about 8 knots

I thought it was “improved residential and commercial shoreline” that you had to stay away from. We have always got them out of the mangroves during mini season and never had a problem with FWC. We where out at contents on that day it was terrible.

It could be. Rules are definitely a little confusing and you hear different things depending who you talk to. Reading them on the website you may be right. I was under the impression years ago it’s a man made channel (dredged years ago) and there is a breakwater (rocks piled up) you had to be 100 yards away, but I could be wrong on that one

Thanks for watching. It was mediocre weather when we left but it turned horrendous after an hour. Glad we caught some and got in safe once it got super nasty. Her clear net worked well! It was just different shaped than what we’ve used in the past but like they said, I don’t think they see it coming

That is one of the biggest things I miss is going for lobster and shrimp full moon OK how you feeling buddy getting stronger. I just started my treatment I got six of them to go and then surgery .👍✌✌💖💪🎅🚌🌻

Storm came though a couple nights ago and 2 lightning strikes were so close it was not funny. One knocked out the street lights. Our house has been hit 5 times. One came in on the cable vision cable which was not properly grounded and the refused to pay the $16;000 damages. I will never use cable vision again. I got hit by lightning on a hobie cat 16 twice and once on a fishing. Boat hit the radar dome and it knocked ,me out of the helm seat.
