Thunderfury, Fulminator and Thundergod's Vigor are some awesome items. Using Deadly Reach with Scattered Blow rune to trigger all the lighting effects all over the place.

Cool build and thanks for the info! Unfortunately builds like this or zookeeper WD remind me that i'll never get all the required gear since I can only play an hr or so maybe a day. I'm gonna miss the AH, I can already tell! I farmed the mothers and sam for the last 3 days and I got one upgrade piece. It was nice to get but not a piece that I really needed. Hey, shinobi, do you know if we'll be able to re-roll +%elemental dmg into other types of emelental dmg? For instance change fire for lightinig in a Cindercote? Tks. PS: I use this same build, my rolls are not as good as yours but they've been working fine. I'd like a Tunderfury as well, or an Odyn Son. And I don' have an lightning SOJ as yours. Good Game!

how do you stay alive w/o LS? i find that since i changed out my dual axes w/ 5.7LS its alot harder to stay alive, i had to reequip serentiy to survive lol, i maxed out my p-points for LoH and using the mantra and gettin about 1.5k life on a hit, which seems tohelp alot but still run into packs where my life goes down quick and slow to come back up

Found a "Thundergod's Vigor" belt the other day. Check it out, also makes it worth finding Lightning Resist on gear instead of Fire as a good place to start building up One with Everything, as it rolls with 150-200 LR plus mine had Resist All as well. +% to Lightning and launches lightning bolts everytime you're hit, dodge or block. Perfect, imo.

Currently not convinced on Monk's effectiveness against elites in D3 lol my monk used to be pretty badass could do Inferno act 3 pretty well, now I seem to barely handle Torment 3 Those ground poisons are just killer >>

So what does the Paper DPS stands for? It is just physical Damage or what does the DPS consists of?

Paper DPS is just the DPS that shows up on your character stats when you're looking at your profile. In other words, it's unbuffed / non-effective damage.

It uses your crit damage, crit chance, attack speed, and weapon damage to determine "paper" DPS. As far as the method as to how they got that figure, I'm not entirely sure.

Patch 2.0.3 introduced a "bugfix" that stops your weapon's elemental damage from applying to your physical skills. So although this build is still powerful your +Lightning skill damage will no longer affect your physical skills, lowering the build's effective dps.

I just read that the little 2.0.3 patch/hotfix made physical skills to convert damage to physical, instead of converting its amage into elemental depending on you weapon's element :s So, aparently, now WotHF wont take ANY bonus from the %to lightning skills affix, only the lightning skills do now, as they convert all your wepon damage, regardless of the elemental damage that it has :c

yeah so if you have 500k damage and all your skills are lightning, and you have +50% lightning damage across all your gear, you now do 750k damage with your skills that do lightning

calling it just "effective dps" is slightly missleading, crit gives effective dps as well as paper dps, id prefer calling it "off-paper dps". also damage to demons is more of a situational dps than effective dps.
