For an experience player He totally annoys me with his decision making in the final 3rd.. Whether he gets a goal or an assist its still a goal contribution from him His Assist stats should have been higher and also his goal tally but he is too selfish. Game could've easily ended 5-1

Jackson is honestly having a very decent bedding in season, 9 goals and 3 assists so far in 24 games without any penalties, of course the finishing has been poor but that can improve over time, if he improves his finishing he can be a top top player

My takes: 1) We shouldn't expect convincing wins from our team this season. Makes me wonder what Poch has been doing all year because we still look like strangers sometimes. 2) Poch needs to be more active. Felt like our drop in energy was something he should have addressed. Our subs also came 10 minutes too late. 3) Sterling's gamble didn't pay off. He only plays good whenever Southgate is in the building, but he couldn't exert himself this game. Mudryk or Carney over him next game please. 4) Poch's use of Enzo and Caicedo still not ideal. Haven't seen Enzo dictate a game in weeks. The issue with the 2 goals we conceded is we don't put pressure on the attacker we try blocking a shot when we 2 to 3m away that's enough space to get your shot away. Simple the more space you close down the smaller the goal gets and even better if you can pressure the attacker to put them off balance why is this so difficult I've seen the same mistake made over and over trying to stand at a distance of 1m or 2m even and trying to block put pressure on attacker close down the shot

Cucurella was trying to put pressure for the second goal , his biggest issue is he always over commits and then get cooked , but most of the goals we’ve conceived is because we don’t apply that defensive pressure , all in all I agree with you

@@janoihaye5154 100% he had a good game he put pressure all game good defensively that one mistake, must say it was a brilliant turn. Cucu doesn't offer as much offensively as Chilly but he is better defensively. TT played a back 5 with Reece and Chilly as WBs even in UCL final it gave them more protection those 2 are better suited to a back 5 TT saw the weakness and strengths and utilized it. Back 4 our best options is Gusto and Cucu back 5 best options are Chilly and Reece. The difficulty is when you have a mix of Chilly and Gusto Poch tried to negate the weakness by tucking Gusto into RCB when Chilly attacked and the Winger or CM protected the wing problem is the CM or Winger wasn't always consistent in doing this. My suggestion when having a Chilly and gusto is to just play a back 5 same with a Reece and Cucu. Unfortunately in football you have to take risks and I do see Reece and Chilly in a back 4 possibly with a CM dropping into defensive making a 3 this is where we need DM profile that's a CB that plays Midfield. As Conte said you have to find the suit(tactic) that fits the team unfortunately at times Poch is forcing a suit that doesn't fit and trying to tailor the suit which is difficult. I've said it a few times we need 2 or 3 players that plug gaps add leadership and experience and we will be challenging.

I’m not necessarily blaming disasi for isak’s goal. I do rate disasi, but I think his weakness is 1 on 1 and he doesn’t seem to close the shooting angles very well. You constantly see players in that position get easy shots at goal because he backs off too much or doesn’t show them away from the goal.

I love everything you've said. I, too, thought that Cucurella would be better but what he lacks in smarts sometimes, he makes up for in effort. Newcastle's second goal was on him for gambling on that interception and their equalizer was a series of mistakes which began with Malo Gusto making a poor choice to bring the ball back into a danger area right in our central defensive area. He has been so brilliant for us, though, I won't be overly harsh on him for it. Raheem Sterling started the season off really great, but at this point, he's done with this club. He going to really have to leave the club.

The second issue I see is our defensive line is extremely high on set pieces teams are able to get behind that line we either struggle to get back or opposition is able to easily run onto crosses behind defense. We definitely need changes in how we defend set pieces.

The defending on set-pieces this game was good, I can’t remember many chances for Newcastle from them. The goals we conceded were stupid mistakes by the defence when we had possession.

Ask yourself which is easier running back to head the ball or running toward the ball to meet player and ball John Terry did this perfectly. Running backwards you have to watch the runners as well as the flight of the ball. One area I agree with board we need set piece specialist as Poch ain't seeing it.
