ssgss3 kalijah From the wiki;- Steelguard is a Sentinel ability. While using Steelguard the damage reduction percentage increases by 20. Defense increases each time the Sentinel is attacked while guard is in effect; each received attack increases the damage reduction by 1-3%. Steelguard can be learned by Snow (Crystarium stage 1), Fang (stage 6), Vanille (stage 6), and Sazh (stage 7).

You know in the first game him and Fang are the best characters. Snow having the most amount of health is really strong but another thing a lot of people don't know is he has the fastest attacks in the game, so technically he can do more damage than Fang as a commando if its a longer fight. It's actually a really good tactic to use him for a magic/sab stun build too because even though he has the lowest magic of all the characters his magic attacks come out at stupid speed. I seen a japanese guy with a party having a full magic Snow build with Fang and Light and he has the WR kill for the long gui. On top of that in the ff13 speedrun community, a few years ago the party you would use after chapter 9 was always Sahz, Fang and Vanille but a japanese speedruner changed some of his tactics and tried using Sahz, Snow and Vanille and it turned out it was faster just because Snow attacks stupidly fast compared to Fang. So yeah indeed, he's a very underrated character for how good he is. I would put him as a MUST HAVE in your party for all comps/situations in ff13.

I love how Snow is practically a God of Protection by now. He is immortal, driven by the need to save other, even through self-sacrifice. Witnessing 500 years of slow destruction knowing her only love was dead barely broke him, and in the end, he had toask the Goddess of Death herself to put an end to his life. But even so, he managed to break the curse of the Fal-cie and be the first and only to return from Cieth to L'cie through his own will (bolstered by Lightning of course). I mean look at him! Imagine that guy at the beginning of FF XIII, the game would have lasted around 2 hours!

What i love about snow is that he really is the only person to will himself into the etro mess of final fantasy xii-2 everyone else was just placed in the path he willingly put himself in the way, so much so caius saw fit to trap him. And if you played your cards right snow could have truly taken the lead against caius, honestly snow has a habit of being such a real main character e.g 1) serah is taken by the pulse l'cie snow frees the inhabitants of the city(including hope and vanille) and giving them a fighting chance. 2) Leave snow at the bottom of a frozen river trying to excavate serah, everyone leaves him saying his crazy. when lightning and hope get cornered guess who comes and saves them and turns the tide by freezing the entire arena. i mean during ff13-2 i was wondering why the fucking hell did Etro choose lightning over snow, he such a main character. Etro you see what happens when you choose the anti hero over the hero the world goes to shit

kalliskivike Caius didn't love Yuel in any way other than parental love. And Noel went on a trip through time just to meet with Yuel. The chemistry with Serah came from him basically projecting his feeling forYueland his wish of protecting someone, but when it came down to it he was always bound to the past. The whole Hope and Light thing comesfromhow they're always paired up as combat partners throughout the series, but the game outright goes out it's way to point out Lightning sees a little brother in him,and someone he has to protect and correct (hence why she gave him the knife and even gave up on her own revenge plan so he wouldn't get caught up in it in 13). I'm a little sad they never followed up on Alyssa's plot during Lightning Returns,not even in the followup novella (which they totallycould have since Alyssa's soul was in the chaos,as hinted by the Canvas of Prayer quest where she asks for her photo;meaning she should have been reborn just like everyone else). It was a completely missed opportunity to give Hope some post-ending development.

It's just so fascinating to see the development of the relationship these two have across all three games. Lightning went from punching Snow a million times in the face in the first two hours of the first game, and then here, she's actually _crying_ for him. I mean, there were small but subtle bonding moments they had of mutual respect (if you're still TRUE XIII fan like me, you will always remember that one CGI scene of those two where they hope for the future, hoping to see Serah, with Lightning pressing her head against his back so he can't see her cry - girl's gotta keep her image in check). She sees how much of a good man he is, and understands just how much he means to her sister, and she wants her sister to be happy and alive with him instead of being depressed and alone. I feel Lightning would have rather died and have that for Serah's sake than lose her and then herself any day of the week. Lightning deserves the Big Sister of the Year award from me. I don't ship them. I never will. Never in a million years would Lightning ever date Snow. They have the best kind of platonic chemistry, like siblings, where one annoys the other so much, the other sibling literally hits them to shut them up (but it never works). Not every female/male needs to be romantically shipped. Now if you're talking Noctis/Lightning, now you got me talking (because Luna is the most boring bitch on the planet...I can't even hate her because she has ZERO character and ZERO chemistry with Noctis).

I feel like Serah was just a spark that started the fire, the stories are all started because of her but she really isn't developed to the point that people can admire the character. Even in 13-2 she was still a very weak character and the story was more based on Noel's past than Serah's own story. I don't try to ship this couple very often but Snow and Lightning in this short scene seemed to have more depth in it than anything Serah and Snow had, even with the engagement, Snow has a beautiful layout as a character but Serah is kinda a leech to his personality, as her presence makes him quote loving things to an undeserving listener. I feel like that's why SE killed her off because they realize that she was a mistake of sorts but brought her back for about a total of three minutes in LIGHTNING Returns so you had closure with her. When she finally does come back she doesn't even acknowledge him after 500 years of being apart, if I hadn't seen the person I love for 500 years I wouldn't care who watched, I would spill my guts about how much I've missed them

I think Snow was originally supposed to be Lightnings Love interest. Until they realized that they didnt want lightning to have one. It makes sense though because thats the way most FF games work. The main character is usually someone who doesnt talk much and is a bit of an asshole (Lightning, Squall, Cloud) than make their love interest someone who has a total different personality, usually more outgoing (Rioana, Tifa, Snow). I perfer them a lot more than Serah and him. They dont seem like they would be together

I don't quite understand what happened to Serah.. I remember that in the first Final Fantasy XIII game they saved her from the Nest.. In the second game of Final Fantasy XIII-2 Serah was with Noel until the end. Serah in the final scene... of the second game... I don't know if she died because of something Yeul had told her... or that... I didn't fully understand... The second game, Final Fantasy XIII-2, I've seen several times... but I don't understand Serah's ending and why that happened to her... And in this Final Fantasy game Lightning Returns She talks to herself Lightning talks to Snow about Serah.. I replay this game again last week and got something to say about lightning return why don't they make noel as the final villain cause he kill the goddess and release the monster on Valhalla should not he death bring back the timeline back to normal and with his guilt he can make a perfect final god of chaos rather than the god itself
