Lightning Pick - Pick to Light

We have pick to light system's where I work and I think it's pretty cool. It's not what I do regularly (I'm a forklift operator) but occasionally I do cover for the light pickers when needed and it's always a fun change of pace. Good stuff!

@vruah - Yes, there are a few ways to add QC to the Pick to Light process, including: 1. Retentive Displays. The Lightning Pick system offers the option of retentive displays, where the quantity light stay lit even after the confirmation button has been pushed. The operator can recall and even quick recheck what was supposed to be selected from that pick face.

@vruah - 2. The automated LP QC Workstation. The station gives operators an automated method of checking order quality against our real-time database. 3. RF verification. Our lights can direct operators to scan verify specific SKUs before the pick is confirmed and they can move on to the next pick. This has been used by pharmaceutical, medical or food processing companies where they need the speed of Pick to Light but must adhere to special requirements like pedigree laws.

@vruah - 4. Lightning Pick has been integrated to automated weight scale check systems. 5. Pick to Light depends on the right product being in the correct rack or shelf location. The replenishment side of the equation can also be automated with RF, Put to Light, Voice or other tools.

Yes it is. Often each bay or zone will have a multi-character alphanumeric display showing the active order number, lot numbers and others directions like 'Pass to Zone 2' or 'Order Complete'. We offer a model of lights that can present functional bar codes for QC or lot checking. Some users have additional LCD displays at specific product locations for images, kitting/assembly instructions and other value-add procedures. @chrisalive1975 - Pick to Light is ideal of Zone Picking where each picker works a specific area and set of SKUs, each order is picked and passed through the zones being built to completion. Demarcation lights on the bays of rack indicate the zone area for each picker.

@chrisalive1975 - For situations where there must be multiple pickers working from the same SKU/ line item Lightning Pick offers multicolor light hardware options. Each picker is assigned a color for their shift, the light device displays that color and corresponding quantity so each picker working from that line makes the right selection.

Coles Eastern Creek NDC in Sydney Australia the average hourly pick is about 500 per hour some guys do 600-800 per hour...Just finished a 9 hour shift and I picked 3419cartons

Hi! I'm writing a paper on picking technologies, and my question is: Can the picked quantity checked in any way with this solution (I mean check if the worker picked the correct quantity)?

I have a question, how well do you think your system would work with sorting Lego elements for a boxed monthly subscription service. I have 3 years experience of on hand use of lightning pick as a picker thru various businesses and am looking into details on lightning pick as a viable solution to fulfilling "kit" orders, lines of orders for identically packed orders.

if more than 1 person is picking on the same line at the same time. How can you tell who's light is who's ?

Those people will have different lights assigned to each.
