Love what you are doing. Especially when you do the full processing thing - from taking pictures to editing process. Not many people do it. As a learner photographer it is godsend...

Hi! I've been doing portrait photography for 12 years in Honduras but I just got asked by some friends to do some commercial photography for a restaurant they're opening, so I started looking for videos and found yours! These are great! You are so much fun to watch and I've learned new things. Thanks for sharing your time and skills!

I love how you emphasize that what you teach are techniques and tools that people can pick up here and there to place in their toolsets and use to create the image that they are envisioning. I think that’s so helpful considering when I first started all I was trying to do was frantically copy each move someone else did hoping it would give the same results on my pictures.

I have been binging on your videos for the last couple days, I can't get enough of how easy it is to learn from them! My biggest fears in lightroom editing are the tone curve and histograms. Do you think you will have a video about tackling those when editing? I know they give you a TON of control, but is it control I am ready for? LOL.

Hi Joanie! Thank you for your tutorials! I get so much out of them! I wonder if you've ever considered doing a video about how you have collected food photo clients over the course of your career? Like, what you were doing when you started out, versus where you are now? Your career journey as a food photographer, so to speak. I think it would be grounding and practical for all of us aspiring food photographers to hear : )

Silly question but isn’t it the same thing when you first bring out the shadows in the basic panel and then you make them darker in the curve? As in, doesn’t the second step neutralise the first?

Joanie, thank you for the editing tutorial but I was shocked to find a huge omission: you never mentioned the importance of having a display calibration system. Without one, any changes to color, contrast, saturation, etc. are being made in the blind. No manufacturer of computer displays, tablets, or laptops makes a display that ships set to graphics standards, most often they are set so the images look good to the eye. If a photographer delivers images that do not have correct color, contrast or saturation to a client that does have a calibrated display, there will be some 'splainin' to be done. Terry Thomas... the photographer Atlanta, Georgia USA
